Lowering Springs: AST or Eibach

Hi All,

I plan on purchasing some lowering springs and am trying to decide between AST and the Eibach Pro kit.

I know a lot of people have some nice things to say about the Eibach which is what I am currently leaning towards but just wish they were a little lower. I heard the provide very good ride comfort which is important to me.

I am "intrigued" (sounds stupid) by the ASTs because they do lower the car more than the Eibach but worry that it may be too low. The description says that the front and back is lowered 30mm. I can't visualize that but it sounds really low. Is it? I do not have to worry about my driveway or anything but what about speed bumps?

Ideally, I think lowering the car to what the MP HAS kit would lower the car would be ideal (20mm). Are there good quality springs that lower the car that much?

Thanks in advance!!

Eibach has always been conservative on lowering - between the two, AST. Swift also has a fantastic spring.

AST is about 30mm, Swift will lower 1.3" front/rear. We keep both brands in stock.

You shouldn't lower the car more than 20mm with the OEM dampers. It's why I chose the Eibach. Not to mention rubbing on every speed bump or uneven driveway. Mischa who has driven G87s on the Ring mentioned that dropping the car too much on OEM dampers hurts handling.

I have an unopened box of Eibach springs in my garage because I'm now very interested in Dinan's HAS kit. Does anyone have any experience with Dinan HAS?

In the past, Dinan used Eibach springs - unsure if that is still the case. For the most part, most choose KW with their close relationship with M Motorsport.

On the HAS side, most of our installs have been KW, with AST a close second.

from what you are describing, it seems that you would be happier with the Eibach
