True, Bmw followed a different route in detuning the S58, which is detuned along the entire power band (100nm less maximum torque), while the S55 was detuned only above 5000 rpm (same torque peak).
In practice, the "low-power" S58 always has less boost, especially in the mid-range, but on the other hand the power delivery is very linear for a turbocharged engine and there is no feeling that it has been detuned (at least until you drive the full-power version, which behaves like a real turbo engine).
The detuned S55 behaved like the full power version up to 5000, then suddenly dropped, not very natural actually.
My personal feeling is that the detuned S58 is still stronger than the full power S55.

I believe this is due to european models having OPF fitted. This seems to cause significant reduction of power. All US based models without OPF are putting down 460+ to the wheels. Depressing af...

This reading has bee replicated 10+ times. 463WHP = 545 BHP at 15% drivetrain loss....
Doesn't this graph state Power at Engine? 464 at engine would be 11 hp over BMW's stated 453, right? And I personally no longer believe the 15% - 20% drivetrain losses. I think it is closer to 10% - 12%.

Or is the text in the graph a generic text filler and is not indicative of already being calculated FROM a wheel power measurement....?.....confusing.

I agree with you. More clarity here would certainly help. I think these are WHP figures & therefore pretty inline with what BMW claims, as we now know what they claim is FWHP is really WHP at the tires. I also think the standard drivetrain losses on a RWD car is more in line with 12%.

Has anybody seen a dyno of an LCI G87 car proving the 20bhp boost yet? Nobody seems to have put it to the test.
