That is incredible .
what a legend. Robert Kubica. 40 years of age.
in 2011 he signed for Ferrari and lost almost all function in one hand that had to be reattached, losing his Ferrari contract for 2012.
in 2021 his team was leading Le Mans (LMP2 category) on the last lap and their car blew up.
in 2025 he was ordered by Ferrari not to attack the factory cars.
just so happened that karma took interest and gave the factory Ferrari 50 and 51 a few "issues"
in the last 20 mins Robert couldn't hold his body upright and was seen slumped in his seat being tossed around the corners and his eyes hardly open.

take a bow Robert Kubica, we are proud of you!

Watched that vid many times
This was make or break for Kube and you rightly state the 50/51 cars had issues, from what I see Ferrari keeping the car issues quiet (like in F1) and the drivers then fighting each other with lunges for overtakes until the boss told them enough is enough you won't catch the Penske and may do more damage to yourselves , Giovinazzi especially driving in a wildcat manner. Poland wakes up today with a hangover after celebrating

''I think he went for a gap that wasn't there'' journo says. The gap WAS there just that Oscar moved over at that exact moment Lando was going for it not using his mirror. Another stewards f up giving Lando a meaningless 5 second penalty.

George: no. i only want to drive for mercedes

separate interview:

Toto, george has done very well, will you give him the contract
Toto: George is quick but that is not linked to giving him the contract

From the angle in this shot you can see that Lando ran into Oscar's rear end.
Lando first destroyed his front wing in the collision, finished on the grass and then in the wall.

Lando with the others are the best drivers on earth, he did indeed hit him but too late to back out of a snap manoeuvre decision already made when there was a gap.

In my mind the stewards are wrong blaming Lando in spite of Lando taking the blame as to avoid a confrontation with the team.

Lando immediately radioed after the crash that he took full blame. End of story.

Oscar and Lando coming together is reminiscent of Jenson and Lewis coming together back in 2011 (in about the same spot). The move toward the wall by Oscar is the normal line taken to set up for the left hand turn one. Oscar most likely was surprised Lando would put his car there. In the short video of the Button/Lewis wreck, the announcers say spray kept Jenson from seeing Lewis. Jenson later said he had no idea that Lewis put his car there. Back then, the Hamilton fans blamed Jenson...Hamilton was quiet about it.

IMHO F1 should totally get rid of time penalties. At the speeds drivers travel they are going to make mistakes. It's either egregious enough for a drive thru or call it a racing incident.

The Mercs where fast! Dind't expect that before the weekend, although mayby Canada is a circuit that suits them with a lot of top speed. Nice to see Antonelli on the podium also. Strategy wise RB was on point, don't think they would have taken P2 with any other strategy.

Norris wasn't too smart. Instead of a couple of points it's a DNF.

Finishing under SC was a bit of a shame, just as the tricks en traps from Russel behind the SC to try and give Verstappen some extra penalty points. I think the main reason for RB to appeal was not to give Russel a penaly but to avoid a penalty for Verstappen.

Mercedes was quick in colder climate, but George dominated the entire weekend. Not bad for a guy out of contract for next year!

Norris made another bone-headed mistake and drove into the rear wheel of his team-mate. He is establishing a reputation for those, and is thus unlikely to win a championship this year.

I think Piastri was smoothly following the line. I don't think there was any jerking of the wheel to defend at all. I think Lando expected a defense from Piastri to the right to defend that inside line, but that's just not Piastri's game. One thing about Piastri, is he just focuses ahead unless someone is alongside him. He doesn't really adjust his line much in defense, which is such a unique way of "defending" that it threw lando off and led to the incident. Had Lando gone right, he would have probably claimed the inside line on the next corner and taken the spot.
