I recently watched an episode of "Decoding The Past" on the History channel about predictions relating to the end of the world. The episode was titled "Doomsday 2012: The End of Days." (http://www.history.com/shows.do?acti...isodeId=280250)

To summarize... the show was about how different cultures all point to the same day, namely DECEMBER 21, 2012 as DOOMSDAY.

So basically...

The Mayan Calendar, I-Ching, Web-Bot project and numerous other sources all point to the same day. Also, there is a major celestial event taking place on that day called the "The Galactic Alignment" where the Earth lines up with the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. There are all kinds of hypotheses on what might happen... Pole shift, Black hole sucking Earth in, etc.. etc..

What do you guys think might happen on 12/21/12 and on the days leading up to that day?

Riots, Chaos, Total Anarchy, Earthquakes, Floods, Fires, Volcanoes

OR simply nothing???

The mayan calender line of thought, while technically could make you wonder, is a bit far fetched. I mean they had their calender decades, centuries into the future. I think they just decided, "Ok this is far enough for now, we'll have plenty of time to expand it more in the hundreds of years til then."

Just the same as how our computer systems for Y2K only used 2 digits for the year. When all those systems were implemented people were thinking of the future but not the way extreme future. While obviously the Mayan calender took the future to farther lengths than the Y2K deal it is still the same premise.

Its just another hoax to induce fear and panic. You know... that thing that the entire media industry thrives around.


(Its even the basics of advertising as well. The feeling that "you aren't ok as you are now, you have a problem and we have the solution for this problem that we are telling you that you have.")
