It was shown that you can do whatever you want (that is meaningful $$ wise) to the G80/82 and it won’t be as good as the M3/M4 CS.

Just like I’ve read for soooo many years people saying I can just tune my 240, put different rotors, braces and so one and have a better car than the M2…LOL

I am really curious about the driving characteristics of the CS, especially from those who own the G87
Completely agree.

The real reason for his frustration is that he’s overextended himself:

You do have fart cans installed too, for that extra sound (and savings)?

Good job, I bet your neighbors can even tell the difference!

Well, I have to say, I love everything about this. The rear spoiler, now that’s something. Like that a lot. Wheel choice is perfect. Nice Job. Congratulations!

Personally I like both concepts, yes the addition’s made on the CS are subjective and will always be compared to previous generations but no really knows the full recipe BMW has created……..yet.

My point was that if a member takes the time to share a new and exclusive version of a car that we all have and enjoy why not just be happy for them instead of the usual “ that colour sucks and doesn’t show off the lines very well” nonsense. If it only came in one colour it would be even less interesting.
I was told by my Mom. “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything”

The colors and the price point of the cs are just not attractive. And the software is also available for everyone:/

I like the M2 CS but not a fan of the Brooklyn Gray. Can’t wait to see the Velvet Blue when it hits my local dealership.

And that's actually horrible advice. If nothing is ever critiqued, then improvements aren't made. The M2 CS is poorly executed for the amount of $ it costs. Minus the ridiculously over-priced (and ugly) trunk, there are ~$4k in different parts compared to a standard M2. The tuning is available to everyone for $300. But that's what many manufactures do in current times with "special editions".

People will argue all day long about which is the better performer. In the hands of 99% of owners it's irrelevant. Those debating which is better generally don't/haven't owned both & simply parrot the online/youtube reviewers sentinments. It's no different than "magazine racing" in the past.

Enjoy whichever one you want, it's your money

What is “the fact” - that you now have a CS, tricked BMW and saved yourself $12k?
Oh, yes, and a special color.
Don’t forget the badge!

As I understand, that “software” was available even before CS was officially released, so, no guarantee that it is exactly the same. Also, would it cause any warranty concerns?
Are you going to be able to sell that M2 of yours in 2029 for $75k what you paid for it?

I’d like to understand this better:
Fully loaded (minus CCB) M2 = basics of CS = $85k
“Basic CS” is $100k = 15k difference.

Wheels, steering, mounts, trunk, all bits and pieces inside, all adjustments, engine tuning, totally different steering is not worth $15k according to you?

Oh, and one more small detail. In 2030, this car will be worth close to MSRP (look at F87 CS), the 25 M2 will be worth 60-65% of MSRP (if that).

So, all the above is absolutely worth $15k to me.

But I agree - your money, your decisions. Just don’t sh!t on other’s decisions

I wonder if side skirt scuff marks will be visible with this color. The side skirts are one of the most annoying features of our 2-series. Especially in black

I think at the end of the day you understand the dynamic of a public forum like this you’re always gonna have differences of opinions and again it’s not like this is something new right I mean you’ll get this in any topic whether it’s cars politics or boats.

I think what’s important is everyone respect respects each other’s opinion and that’s it I don’t care if anybody hates a car that I purchased. It’s nice to hear every side and you’re right there are those that don’t want to keep things stock like me I’ve always kept things stock when I purchase a car and some like to make changes. And Some like to just keep their older models and refused to get anything that’s new.

My only comments are that everyone has their own opinion I have driven the base M2, and I’m actually happy to report that I’ve become a convert because I actually like BMW now more than Mercedes I think the M2 is literally one of the best compact cars I’ve driven in the last 10 years. An absolute blast of a fun car

And I can honestly say that the CS to me again this is my opinion looks way better on the exterior and the interior and it must be seen in person

I think also a lot of people that don’t like how it looks in pictures as well changed their mind when they see it in person but that’s just my opinion

Based on what I’ve seen and the difference is interior and performance of this new CS I think it’s worth the price of admission

The amount of carbon inside this car is insanely astonishing more than hurracan

Absolutely mate. We both, along with many others are just polite. I just can’t be arsed with the negative comments when buddy is sharing a $100k plus car and has taken the time to share it with us.

Enjoy it to the full mate, the closest I will get to any CS magic is the splitter I have on order! 😂 so I love reading about users real world experiences.

Are you going to be able to sell that M2 of yours in 2029 for $75k what you paid for it?
The fact was the software was available to all - & that's the post you quoted with an "lol".

To your other post, BMW forged wheels are over-priced & still heavy, don't care about the trunk (ugly), the front splitter is cheap & the actual performance upgrades (struts & mounts) equates to ~$4k. A loaded M2 - minus the carbon buckets that my legs don't fit in, is $79k. So it's a $20k difference for $4k in performance upgrades and some questionable appearance changes. No it's not worth it to me - thus why I'm not buying one.

Will I be able to sell my M2 for what I paid, no, and I don't care. Because nobody has a crystal ball to 2029, nobody knows if the CS will sell high either - except all the internet experts who haven't even seen the car in person
