BMW right trunk storage net compartment

I have a new G42 230i. Coming from a previous generation F22, I really miss the handy cargo net area on the right which BMW seemed to have in the earlier 2022 builds but discontinued on later models.

I do see the net still available to purchase (51-47-5-A1E-168) but I'm wondering how it will attach since the rear cargo carpet doesn't seem to have any cutouts for it. Has anyone tried doing this mod in later models?

I'm assuming the part includes the mounting brackets but just curious if anyone has done this yet and how easy or hard this mod turned out to be.

Thanks!

I’d love to know this too. I will probably try to install it when I get my car delivered. At least now I know what part I need.

The net does not come with any fixings, quite easy to retrofit. Drill a couple of holes for the metal bar and add the lower clips, which also need holes drilling.
I would suggest finding generic lower clips, they are silly money from the dealer

I installed it, went smoothly but as other poster mentioned I needed to drill some small holes. Keep in mind the net doesn’t come with the little clips. If you search the what did you do to your g42 today thread I posted the part number for the clips.
