2023 Manual CS Suite Tune review

I wanted to do a small review of the G87 CS suite of tunes on my car. Firstly, I decided to go with chris3g mainly because of the positive reviews from members and his thread on actual results of the CS tunning on a manual transmission car. To me, that showed someone with expertise and made me feel confident that this person knows their stuff.
I went with their CS package for manual cars consisting of
• Engine tune
• Steering tune
• Suspension tune
• Differential tune
• Antidazzle headlight upgrade
• Active Sound removal
The process was super quick, after I prepped the car (which had clear instructions), we were able to connect via WhatsApp and the tunning session took about 7 minutes in total. The process was super easy.

The first thing I noticed after it was all done was how intrusive the ASD is. BMW pumps in so much noise, that loud bombastic sound you hear in the car isn't the exhaust, its literally noise coming through your speakers and probably your subwoofer. I can now have a normal conversation with someone in the car, no more thud noises when I upshift near readline, and no more deep bass sound when you can't hear it outside. Well worth it to code that off to be honest. Though I would highly recommend modifying your car's exhaust and intake to get a more natural sound that you'll enjoy while driving.

The CS Power difference, to me, is negligible. I expected to feel a big difference but to me, I didn't. I attribute it to my Dinan intakes and Evolution Racewerks J-pipe and midpipe. I feel like those mods already boosted the car's throttle response and probably gave it the top end that the tune would have to begin with. I do see the difference in the Sport Mode screen where the HP increased from 459 to 482. So I know that the tune is there. Just not as noticeable if I had left the car stock I suppose. I'm not complaining, the power is still there and it is smooth, the car loves being revved out.
Edit: I think I have a feeling as to why the car doesn't feel 60 hp faster other than the previous mods, when accelerating, I noticed that my TC light kicked on a few times, I'm assuming the car is leaving power on the table. I'll try again with everything fully turned off just to see if that does the trick.

The biggest improvement was the suspension tuning and steering. The car feels much smoother over bumps. You're able to put down power even more, its more compliant than before and bumps are less harsh as rebounding has improved.
Side note, I am on KW HAS. And I feel like any harshness is now gone.
The steering also is more direct, I can drive in Sport steering where before it was only in comfort as I feel like Sport was simply overboosted. Now it isn't, it feels more direct and you feel more of what is going on on the road.
Honestly, worth it on those two things alone.

The Differential, I haven't pushed the car enough to notice the upgrade. So I can report on that later.

Anti Dazzle is pretty amazing. It follows the road and if there are cars present, it will low beam the pavement and high beam everything else. I use this feature when i'm not in the city and it works flawlessly. It's like a robot at first, doing a weird little light beam dance and then settles down to illuminate exactly what you want and more importantly, wont blind other cars. Then when you're back in town, just turn off the auto high beam (this is what triggers the antidazzle) and you're set.

TL-DR: chris3g has a very easy, pain free, way to improve your stock G87 at a very affordable price. Color me impressed.

Thanks for the write up. I'll likely go this route next year.

The throttle is much improved with the CS FWIW; I have BMS filters and stock exhaust and I could tell immediately that the TQ comes on faster when shifting and make the tranny feel like It’s meant for the car. I have even removed and re-flashed - and it definitely there.

Also the car pulls harder at the top end than without the flash - everything else you said about suspension/steering is bang on what I have witnessed.

I think I need to make any appointment to have ASD coded out. I thought it was out - but I’m still getting the “bombastic” noise.
