Can't get ZF8 in neutral to tow

Please help I’m at my wits end. I spent all last night trying to figure out where exactly the release is on the zf8 on the G87 so I can get this lump on a tow truck and brought to a shop as I’m pretty sure my starter is roasted. I know it’s somewhere under there on the trans but I don’t see it when I jack the car up on the drivers side. I checked the owners manual and I don’t see anything. I’ve tried googling to find some sort of diagram or YouTube video of it or even a G80/82 as I figured they have the same procedure but again no luck. I don’t have a way to get the car up high and safely go all the way under it but i imagine there is someway to do it for if the car ever breaks down on the road that doesn’t require the whole car be lifted.

Call your dealership or the BMW Assistance line - either one should be able to direct you.

By “tow truck” do you mean “flat bed”

Are you under warranty?

I’m out of warranty so I don’t want to bring it to the dealer and that’s the only place their roadside assistance tows to and yes I mean a flat bed but I need the car to roll to get it on and off the tow truck.

Yea I ended up having to go under the car and zip tie a spring loaded lever in the down position to get it in neutral. Was a pain in the ass cause there wasn’t anything good to attach the zip ties to.
