Buy a car or rent a car?

I need some advice guys...

For the past few months I have been in Iraq and I return to the United States in September. I have a 335 sedan on order that will not arrive until November/December.

I don't own a car so I am wondering what I should do for 3 months while I wait for my baby to arrive...

I can buy a used car or I can get a rental. I am trying to figure out the most economical and worry free route to go.

What do you guys think?

how much to rent? I would buy like an $800 BMW (87 325i) and drive it around for a few months.

yea buy a car under 2k and your set! u can pick up an 90 civic or someshit and resell it!

I just checked out the fees and they are wild. Around 3K for 3 months.

Like the others said; buy a car under the $2k mark. At that point, there's nothing left to depreciate, and chances are in 3 months you'll be able to make back most, if not all of what you paid for it.

see if you can come to some arrangment with your dealer to buy a second hand car on his lot with a guaranteed buy back when your car arrives such that your total outlay is going to be around the figure you want to pay
