It's funny that every post from people who don't have one says it isn't worth it, while posts from people who do have one say it's great.
In my travel it seems footprint is less a factor than overall weight (within reason, obviously a 17" desktop repalcement is going to suck for plane use regardless of weight.) Of course my old 12" Powerbook G4 wins for both. I really wish Apple would release a 12" version of the newer Macbooks. Also, Tom's Hardware recently published this article, and it really sheds a lot of light on the Mac vs. PC subject. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ista,1985.html |

I agree with you, I wish they would bring out a 12.0-12.1 as well. I have been using a 12.1 dell 700m for about 3 years now, and want [need] a new unit, but have been dragging my feet, and don't understand why a BLACK macbook is $400 more than a white one. I just haven't taken the time to decide yet what to do, so any directional ideas would be grand. Thanks again! |

Unless you plan on using your laptop for high-end graphics, current generation gaming or as a desktop replacement the 1099 dollar MacBook will probably suit you very well. |

It would but I'm not liking the thought of a white case. They are not thinking if you ask me. I guess I'm just cheap, and don't really want to spend the other few hundred on a more care free color, but may have no choice if I want Black so bad. :iono:

If you are worried about the color getting scuffed easy... both my friend and I have used this stuff on multiple devices to great effect. There are similar products out there and some come in actual colors, not just clear. |
