To echo words of other members...do whatever you can to stay positive. Mind over matter, your psychological health plays an equal role. Keep your eyes on the brighter sides of life, lean on those you can and do what you need to do to keep YOU happy.

In our prayers, stick with it. I expect to see a detailed review and photos of the car control clinic.

I got my pathology results back. One of the polyps removed in the colonoscopy was malignant and there are other pre-cancerous polyps. I'm going to my surgeon and transplant doc Wednesday to discuss my options.

Don't know what to think right now. I just wish Wednesday was sooner.

Damn.

FIGHT the BEAST.

Keep a good attitude for your remaining time, be it short or long, otherwise it is wasted.

My Dx was in Nov 2002, I finished chemo and bought my 330xi, a reward for getting through it. I forced myself to keep going during the chemo, did some interior work on the house. "Use it or lose it" I was told, so I pushed it. Took about 6 months before I felt good, and about a year to be back to 95%.

My 135 is due any day, and I plan on wearing it out before I go. Not bad for a Dx of incurable Cancer.

I have to undergo surgery on Feb. 5th to remove a very significant portion of my colon. Upon my diagnosis last April, I had a portion of it removed and it was a pretty tough surgery. But I'm going to work harder to get some weight on prior to so recovery will be easier this time around. It was a little disheartening to hear this, but I trust my team of docs. What is it with me and my major organs being removed?

No, it'll be done at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. I'm followed there by my transplant and oncology physicians.

I feel bad that I cannot do anything. Just keep fighting. The mind is always stronger than the body and does miraculous things if you can keep it strong.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Yes, please get you colonoscopies. Even though my symptoms seemed to come about very quickly, my doctor says the growth probably started several years back. At that point I was in my early 20s. I think the rule is to start getting regular colonoscopies on a regular basis starting at the age of 40. So it wasn't in my head that I should get a colonoscopy to prevent problems.

I would love to go to BimmerFest in CA, unfortunately, money will be a determinant.

Before this news, I was about to commit to a 2-day Car Control course in Spartanburg in March during my spring break. But I think I'm gonna sign up for a late-May class. By that time, I will be completely recovered, and hopefully have some working out behind me so I can have good strength for steering and stuff. Plus, it'd be a couple of days before my birthday!

Thanks again for all of your well-wishes. I'm eating as much as I can, but in a healthy manner, so I can put on some weight before surgery. When I had my previous surgery in April, I was in so much pain, I'd not been eating well at all for at least 10 days.

I don't expect to have any new news until my surgery.

Now time for a shameless plug:
My mother and I co-founded The Big Fun Foundation. We raise money in order to donate Big Fun Boxes, activity boxes for kids, to pediatric hospitals across the country. We've made toward our ultimate goal of having Big Fun Boxes in every pediatric hospital in the country. So far we've donated Big Fun Boxes to approximately 70 hospitals! Please visit our Foundation's website at www.thebigfunbox.org.

The Big Fun Foundation is the answer to a question my mother and I asked ourselves a few years back: what can we do to give back? I was fully recovered from my transplant and life had "slowed down" to a manageable pace. We felt that we needed to give back to the medical community, short of just donating money to a hospital or charity. We hope that Big Fun Boxes make a child's extended stay in the hospital just a little easier by providing a distraction from the stress, boredom, and at times, fright, that can come about.
