E46 //M3 are there any out there on lots?

Hello All-

I have a 335 on order, should take delivery in begining on october. But am having second thoughts and reservations as I have really always wanted an E46. I am also hesitant on buying a 1st model BMW(specially with turbo's). The E46 has been out for years now and they have worked out most of the bugs. I have a old friend from high school who runs the service dept over at my dealer. so i dont have to worry about the SD giving me a hard time about stuff breaks. But still....I want to be driving my new car, not a loaner. theres no guarentee that the car will break, but you never know.

My question is are there E46's coupes out there sitting on dealer lots? Should I be able to get a really good deal on one? How can I find one? Do I have to call every dealer in NA? I called and found a dealer in the hampons who says there are no coupes that he could find in their computer in the whole US. He told me that if the dealer lists the car as sold they wont show up in the computer. Another local dealer has a brand new convertable loaded. but the guy in the hamtons new nothing about it. it seems the dealers computers are misleading and have a hard time beleiving that there arent any E46's out there in never never land!

How many of you guys would take chance with a brand new car?

Any guidance appreciated.

if you want an m3, for the price you are going to pay for the e46 3, i think you should wait a year or so and get the new m3. should be better than the e46 in every way from what i hear.

Here is the only reason i'd buy an e46 m3 instead of waiting for the new one though...never been a fan of the e90/92 dash layout. e46's is much better.
