It's almost free anyway. During CES in January they were selling rooms at $129.00 per night

Plat is good. They seem to never to say no to anything and my parents get the bill.

How often do these kind of deals happen??

Maybe I will bump up my Gold to Plat. They've been haggling me for the past 4 years and I just couldn't bring myself to pay the $500 fee over the $250 gold fee. But that would make up the difference right there and the wife would love impromptu trips to Vegas if hotels were free every so often.

Switched sometime back and managed to get my Mother 50,000 extra points. Might want to see if they have such a deal on now.

im not sure how often but with the plat you do get a lot of other benefits. Last year i went to vegas a couple of times and booked my rooms thru plat each time and the i always got a really low rate, early check-in, later check-out, free breakfast for two, etc.

Well...I can't speak for the black card but one of the best feature I have for my plat is the 24hrs concierge service. They literally saved my life during valentines day bcus I made resrvations late so most resturants werw booked to max. Made one call to amex plat, they asked which resturant, I told them one of the fully booked ones that I wanted to go to and they placed me on hold. Few minutes later lady told me she spoke with the resturant manager and gave me an opening. Plat never let me down

Number should be on the back of your card.

From what I know it has to be the amex plat (the silver / plat colored card). Costo amex plat and skymiles plat would not work

so what does that conversation between the manager and the amex service rep. entail? is there some sort of verification on the service rep's part or something along those lines...cause i can just call the restaurant myself and make like im the service rep and free up a table myself. also does this also imply/require that i use the amex card to pay for the dinner?
