dabears Electro House / Trance Mixes

hey everyone, I'm a member on e46fanatics (don't hate ) but I recently discovered this forum, I have an M3 so not sure why I didn't see it sooner... so far it's awesome and I'll be sticking around, tons of great info!

Anyways, BMW owners tend to have good musical tastes... so I figured I'd share my mixes on here as well.

http://mixes.dabears.ca

Take a listen, hopefully you enjoy them... a lot of people currently do.

Opinions greatly appreciated!

Figured from some of the songs warping. Make sure you do your own beat grid on each song, sometimes on the breakdowns, ableton analyzes the song wrong and makes it warp.. Other than that it's great man

Hey man, I'm from Edmonton too!

I checked out some of your mixes and found some cool tracks that i hadn't heard before.

You've got some cool ways that you try and blend tracks, you're not just beatmixing all the way through which is nice to see. Lot's of DJ's dont try and do different mixes and shake things up. Along with that though, I noticed a lot of mixes where you just seem to be fading between tracks within the span of 8 bars or less sometimes even. This was the case in "from dusk till dawn". Sometimes a quick mix is good if the tracks dont fit together well, or you need to bail out, but by the end of the mix, i kinda got tired of just hearing quick fades. Know what i mean?

Oh, and i'f you arent already using it, buy yourself a copy of Mixed In Key. It's a great tool when used properly. It's not the be all and end all, and is no substitute for good programming, but it can create some cool effects and let you mash up tracks you would have never though went together!

Keep it up man. How long have you beeb DJing and do you play anywhere in town? I've been playing for 8 years now. I don't want to threadjack, so if you wanted a copy of my latest CD or to chat, shoot me a PM.
