Nothing of note at all. The only interesting thing that they seem to have gleaned about the game (from the GT5 stand demo) is that the game will have fully animated pit crews.
The SLS AMG was in the stand

Lame. Lame. Lame.
I can't even remember when the last GT was, (I don't count prologue as a release). And now we find out we need to wait for another year? bah... Forza 3 is looking better and better. I'm glad I also have an xbox 8) -BMW2006 |

They have not said this anywhere and historically GT has never released within 2 months of it's japan date anywhere else in the world.
Kaz did say that 'blah blah we are aiming for release worldwide in very shortly after the japanese date' but guess what, he said the same thing on GT4 and it was a 2 1/2 month wait. I swear that man is the Playstation equevallent of Peter Molyneux, all broken dreams and hollow promises

Even then, PS3 games aren't region locked. Those that care enough can import. Not like you need english dubbing to drive a car.
The wait does suck, and I expect it to underdeliver in relation to the hype. But I can't wait to start running laps on the Nurburgring again. Even on Forza 2 it just wasn't as fun. This game is the PS3's Alan Wake....I wonder which one will be released first. |

I once knew a kid who played the entire Lunar : Silver star RPG without knowing a lick of Japanese. It's entirely doable. Even tuning shouldn't be too hard, you would just need to do a lot of trial and error. But we kind of already know what mods do what, and what values they are supposed to be. I wouldn't have the patience or want to pay for it just to buy the US version later. But would want to try it out to get a few laps in with the choice cars. -BMW2006 |

For the record, the Gran Turismo series (aside from crash damage) is the most realistic driving simulator available in stores.
GT5 will NOT dissapoint by any means. The game is going to have updates that you can download long after it's release. This game will be everything they promised, and some. Watch... |

As for the long awaited release, yes, that is rather disappointing but all great things take time.
I'm still waiting for the official car list to be released. |

I've owned previous JP versions of the Gran Turismo Series and it was never really an issue. Basically you can't read any car/part descriptions or instructions. It's not like trying to play a Japanese RPG or something.

The problem with Polyphony Digital is their unwillingness to innovate. If you really think about it, the GT series hasn't progressed much since the first version. It's almost the same thing with minor improvements (aside from the graphics). I mean it took 5 versions for them to finally decide to add car damage. I totally understand their reasoning for not wanting to add it, but Forza is beating them at their own game when it comes to those aspects of simulation. I really hope GT5 is going to be worth the wait. 2 versions of Forza will have been released before even 1 of GT has shown up on the next generation consoles. Polyphony Digital has a lot to live up to.

I like the sound of the guy behind GT. He feels like an utter perfectionist, unlike Forza who go out measure the car and punch the specs into a model to create the game version of it (see the veyron video) and then dream up some fictional "mods", Kazunori drives all of the cars (expect probably the Fezza F1 ones and the Citroen concept) and he knows exactly how to convey the actual sensation in his work.
We've also never had to pay for an update with Prologue, the real game itself will come packaged with enough content to keep people occupied for years unlike the very commercial world of Forza updates (and the time we have to wait for them to materialize) Iam looking forward to my copy of the third version of Forza but there is no doubt that Gran Turismo is worth the wait. To put this into perspective, there are many kinds of soft drinks: Dr Pepper, Pepsi, Fanta, Big Red etc but there is only one Coke and GT is it.
