What unlocked phone to buy?
Ive been a fan of Sony Ericsson phones for about 4 years. I always buy them UNLOCKED ( so i can use them in other countries). But they tend to brake on me a year after the purchase. My last one (K790i) stopped working about a month ago. So currently im using my "old' one (K750i)... Anyways, of course i have been thinking about a I Phone, but there are things i dont like about it: poor battery, no bluetooth, cant be used in with other operators around the world (unless you unlock it).
My budget is around $300. Ive been thinking about Samsung JET, Lg Arena, Nokia 5530 and a couple of others... But they all got their problems. Lg Arena has a lot of software problems Nokia 5530 was my favorite until i found out that their touch screen SUCKS Samsung Jet- has more + than - from my researches. Anyways, im not going to be using it as a mp3 player, i dont need it for a business (but internet is a must), i do need a GOOD signal though. Any other advices?

ya it just came out, or you could get the n97 if you care more about size, n900 so far has better reviews.
To get it, it involves you dealing with Chinese independent cell phone stores (seeing as you are in SF, shouldn't be a problem) and some insiders trick. You have to either know these tricks or know some1 that works in a cell store. Theres a couple tricks you can use so find a store and ask. The basic principle is you are negotiating with the store to use part of their commission to pay for part or all of the phone. the tricks is how to structure your account to maximize the store's commission but at the same time, minimize your cost. |

That is possibly the worst phone ever. I have had the N95 NAM, N95-8GB NAM, N96 NAM, and the N97 NAM. The worst ones were the N96 NAM and the N97 NAM. EXTREMELY buggy and equally slow. Waste your money on something else.

My N97 NAM is at Nokia for the 3rd time. They are supposedly sending me another one. For now I'm using a IPhone 3GS, but I may try out the Samsung models. I was a die hard Nokia fan, the N95 NAM and the N95 8GB are amazing phones. They started to go downhill when the N96 NAM was released. I turned that phone into Nokia twice and after it was "fixed" I sold it on craigslist for $200. When I receive my N97 NAM back, it's going to be sold as well.
