SJPD in particular are crooked trash.

many years ago, when i was working as a civil engineer, we used to have off duty SJPD on site in their black and white any time we had to perform traffic control (blocking a lane for construction for example) in san jose. this is a requirement for approval of any traffic control plan by san jose dept of public works.

invariably, the pigs would get to chatting w/ some of the construction workers, and i remember a couple of times the officer bragging about the cars he could afford despite his police salary (accompanied w/ many winks). on another occasion, a cop even offered to sell some of the construction workers drugs. afterwards, being a naive engineer, i asked the consruction workers why they didnt report shit like that, and got a pretty serious look of incredulity in return.
