Planning a Honeymoon to Tahiti/Bora Bora in June... any advice?
Like the title says, we've picked Bora Bora for our June honeymoon. There are many combinations of itineraries to surrounding islands... which is the best? Any 'best deal' sites? Thanks in advance for any tips.

You BASTARD! Lol, I'm joking.
You will have an amazing time. Fiji is actually more commercialized than people think. We did a package that was Bora Bora, Rangiroa, and Tahaa. Absolutely amazing, hope you like to dive! EDIT: If you don't want to pack your stuff up every 4 nights, you can do day trips to see the other islands too. Also, spring for the over-the-water bungalows on at least one locations!

A good friend recently got back from the area and went on and on about it. I know that is of no help but I don't care.
ps: Except for the 9 day flight from Houston he said it was amazing. |

Went on a 15-day cruise to French Polynesia and I'd do it again in a heartbeat! We spent 3 days in Bora Bora (my favorite) and 1-2 days on other islands and cruising is a great way to see them all without the inconvenience of unpacking and checking in/out. You save a lot of money on food (I remember it being VERY expensive to eat there!) by eating on the ship and selectively splurging on meals on shore.
Bon voyage! |

When I was planning my honeymoon I though it couldn't be thaat expensive. Till I looked into it. Nothing was cheaper then $4k a person. Fuck that. Too much $$ for a honeymoon IMO, unless you have money you don't know what to do with. We couldn't waste 3 days flying either. We opted for St. Lucia. Relatively cheap for our length of stay and the food was pretty damn good.

My wife and keep telling ourselves we're going to go to Tahiti ever year. To the point that we have had it all punched in and ready to book online a couple times. Never fails though, every time we take a look at the 5-figure total we think about how much other stuff we could buy with that money and decide to do it "next year."
*shrug* One day we'll do it... but not when I can put a down payment on a vacation home in Tahoe for the same money. Good luck on your honeymoon though. We went to Kauai and stayed at the Princevile Resort (which has just been totally renovated into a St. Regis resort) and had a absolutely fantastic time. |
