I played this at E3 yesterday. The demo they had was team deathmatch.
I am not used to a controller (always play FPS on PC) so I felt aiming controls were too sensitive. But the game felt like MW2, speed- and action-wise. You can choose a class, and adjust your attachments, before you re-spawn. Company reps said there will be some sort of killstreak reward, but they are "skill" kill streaks. Like getting a number of headshots in a row or melee kills in a row, rather than just killing a number of people in a row. I think there are killstreak rewards, but I'm not too sure - I did see a UAV go off when it wasn't a basic command. Nothing stupid like a nuke though. They said there were vehicles in the beta (not available in the demo they had), but they didn't elaborate on how they'll be implemented online, if at all. And I got a beta key in the end... I hope my PC experience turns out to be a lot better. Like I said earlier, I'm not used to using a controller I couldn't really evaluate as well as I wanted.

BTW in case any of you didn't catch it, the 2nd trailer is supposed to parallel the Normandy landing.
I'm pretty stoked for this. The Frostbite engine is sweet and for you Multiplayer guys (I am not), Dice is handling all of that so it should be good. |

DICE handling it might be bad news. Look at all the hit detection flak (PC) they're receiving about Bad Company 2. I myself could not handle that garbage, after years of playing FPS

Oh interesting. I never play the multiplayer so I didn't know. I just heard DICE in general was good but maybe not.

PC Beta starts today (assuming my key works); I'll check back in here to report anything.

I just played the beta last night. I mainly played Team Assault which is basically a team deathmatch mode.
The game feels like a slower version of MW. Movement feels a little robotic. There are only three classes to choose from; Rifleman, Spec Ops, and Sniper. Each has a unique explosive. Riflemen get a GL, Spec Ops get an AT-4 or RPG-7, and the Sniper gets C4/IED (you can see a little cell phone as your trigger for the latter). So far, it's been pretty good, but I get the feeling that the hit detection or netcode problems in BC2 made their way over here. Also, it doesn't seem like the rockets make any splash damage (although in real life these rockets aren't the thermobaric type). The GL has sort of the same problem, but for some people that's a good thing. There's another mode which is like warfare (I believe that's what it was called) in CoD: World at War, which I didn't get to play much. Also, the scoring seems effed up. I'd see at the end of the match having more total points and kills than the other team, but we'd still lose.

This looks like a "rent" for me. I really like BC2, but I also believe MW2 was absolute garbage. I'm not saying BC2 is perfect, but it was a hell of a lot better than MW2.

I can't play BC2 on normal mode. Hardcore on BC2 makes more sense to me than any other FPS I've played (except for the fact that you can't go prone, but I'm over that).
