Nvidia GTX 460 (Fermi GF104)
This is a brand new $200 card from Nvidia and it is apparently blowing the doors off the competition. Dubbed, "The $200 King". If this is what fermi can be when done right, I can't wait for the next top of the line card.
Here is the anandtech review. http://www.anandtech.com/show/3809/n...0-the-200-king In addition, it seems the card can be overclocked like crazy. Here is a review of the OC'd versions. http://www.anandtech.com/show/3810/n...e-vendor-cards Enjoy.

Wow, for $200-ish, that's a MF'er of a card. I like it.
I've been out of the SLI loop for a while. Is mem additive or are you capped at the mem size of a single card in the setup? |

Pretty sure it is additive. Both cards must also match though. There is a 1GB GTX 460 also though. For around $20 extra.

I saw the 1GB version on newegg, but I don't think I'm familiar with the manufacturer. |

I like SLI just because by the time your card can't run newer games, it'll have dropped in price. You won't have to go buy a new $200 card, you can just by the same one you've been using for about $50 and be able to run the new games just fine.
The next time new games come out, then you'll probably have to by a newer, more powerful card.

I have a GTX 295 which highly outclasses the 285 (in the review)
I don't know however if it outclasses the 460?? a lot of people have told me in another thread that the 295 is better :S should I upgrade or not?

F me. I bought a GTX260 for around 160 to use temporarily because my backup 7900gs died. Sold my GTX285s waiting for reviews to become solid. I thought the GTX460 would cost at least 350+ not 200.

Sorry, but I believe you are mis-informed.
From my link in the OP. Clearly not a hot card with respect to the competition.

The GTX 465 is a GTX480/470 (GF100) chip that didn't make their minimum requirements. So they bin the chips that don't meet par (or yeild) until they have enough extra to launch a new product line at a lower cost. The passable yield for the GF100 is something really low, like 10% or less I've heard. Though it has probably and still is improving.
The GTX 460 is a all new chip (GF104) that was made purposefully for the GTX460 board. It isn't as robust as the GF100, but it is improved in many ways and a new GF100 success based on the GF104 chip would be powerful indeed. I have heard rumor that a new GTX495 or 485 will come out that will be 2 GF104 chips in a X2 setup. (Think 5870 X2 only better, and perhaps cheaper). Regardless, $200 is a great deal for this GPU. I'll probably get one as soon as I find a game I can't run smoothly on my old 8800GT. I was planning on getting the GTX480 when it came out, but I really don't need it, and would rather not pay the higher power bill. Plus, all that heat output would actually warm up my room a bit more. Which I would also not like.
