what are your plans for 330? are you selling it for the M? you could keep the 330 as a dd and then pick up the e36 as a toy...

Unfortunately don't have the luxury, but if I did, that's exactly what I'd do (as many have). Insurance cost and garage space being the 2 main hurdles of the 2nd car.

I only drive 4-5k miles a year, so an older M car makes sense as a DD. A 135 makes most sense, but I'd be missing out if I didn't pick up something more exciting and rare while the opportunity is still around.

Hopefully I should be in a position to make the jump this upcoming winter.

This makes sense, thanks. Didn't have the opportunity to test drive as no dealers nearby had one available when I was testing everything I could a few weeks ago.

I'll go back to stock prior; much of what I do with my car is either to refresh it cosmetically or maintenance-wise (115k). New brakes, ZSP suspension, newer bumpers are all staying on when/if I go to sell. Minor mods such as lights, steering wheel, trim, would all probably come off.

haha very nice and back what you said before; I agree I think the 1 series,(for sure the m1) is the closest to an e46 m3. That may be your best bet.
