Yeah, I suspect we're looking at a pretty unique situation where the M model gets an LCI while the base model doesn't. I don't know why this happened but at least the typschlüssel change that was made to G87 but not G42 seems to support that.

Ironic thing about the launch video - confirms my view that so many new cars have become so “numb” you may as well be driving a simulator. That said, respect the 6MT!

That’s what has me so confused. It looks like only the very first character of the G87 model type code changed because of the engine tuning. Aside from the engine tuning the G42 received all the same updates but its model code, as you know, remains unchanged. To make things even more confusing neither got updated headlights/taillights. Makes me wonder if they’re going to do another incremental update in a couple of years.

Given the EOPs of the existing models, the most likely future is no LCI until 2029 EOP and either a complete cancellation or an emissions related powertrain refresh for the non-M US models in 2026.

Because the roof separate from a package has been a thing since launch in many places.
The carbon roof was also listed in the Carbon Bucket seat package, even though it was a free option as standard in the UK🤷‍♂️

I always thought that was weird.

177 mph cutoff is a super exact number…wonder what’s behind it? Tire capability? Vmax (aerodynamics) ? Or just making sure it doesn’t overtake big brother M3?

I really like the new colors and the new wheels, but this is NOT an LCI if you ask me.

Yes those can now be purchased as a stand alone option.

Can’t be as bad as those 13K e bay listings.
If they offer it as stand alone option they should sell them too.

The yellow looks surprisingly nice. For me though it is coming down to Voodoo Blue or Twilight Purple.
