The mounting method is a special pin and hot bond.

The reason why mail order is not available is because they have to be made one at a time and we are not prepared to mass produce them.
If the bumpers can be removed, it is not that difficult a task in my opinion.

Sorry about this time. Have a good BMW LIFE! Thank you very much.

Another mesh option

Only for the center, though.

Does anyone know if the Zunsport center grille would fit behind those two pillars? Even if it requires zip ties, I might prefer that over covering the pillars.

I doubt it will as delivered because the center piece has a slight curve to it.
You would need to flatten it to use it behind like the RGS unit

Better than nothing, but no, the side radiators are just as vulnerable as the main, only protected by those flimsy plastic grids.

I drove to work today (I'm a BMW Client Advisor). I came out later to see a puddle of green coolant around my tire and all over my front bumper. Something wasn't right.

I got my car checked in to service and soon afterwards got a video showing a silver dollar sized rock had fallen out of my front bumper by the passenger auxiliary radiator.

A rock punctured my front radiator. It will not be covered by warranty. The bill is almost $1,600 to replace the radiator. I have 835 miles onmy M2. I drive 90% interstate to work every day. I do t tailgate or speed. I feel like this is an obvious design flaw by BMW. Who is going to fix this design flaw?
Do you have the platinum warranty or the limited warranty that comes with the car? I'm wondering if that would make a difference in permissibility of this claim.

Warranties cover manufacturing defects, not design flaws, and proving this is a flaw is probably not possible. At some point BMW may realize the design is less that ideal and make a manufacturing change, but doubt retrofits would be offered.

I have a 10 year Zurich warranty that I paid extra for. There is a chance the service department could word a repair to have it covered, but that would be a long shot. The only reason there's a chance it could be covered is because Zurich isn't going to ask for the broken radiator like BMW would. Zurich might just cover it if it was worded as a leaking radiator.

i reached out to the stradale design folks who let me know that they are coming out with the side grills next week too. so now it seems we will have two options for full front protection. i am going to stick with stradale personally as i dislike the fact that the zunsports mount in front of those two bars in the middle.

Hello, I heard back from Zunsports. They tested their grill on a car with the adaptive cruise control module and found it works. They will update their website to reflect such.

Installed the zunsport grills minus the brake ducts. May put those on as well. I do like the stradale look as well so will see if I end up changing to that in the future.

Installed Turner Motor Sports skid plate today. I prefer to Mishimoto as it protects entire bay. YMMV

The Turner's is definitely more comprehensive, did you have to use any additional spacers to allow for enough clearance? I ordered the Mishimoto but it's on back order est 8-10 weeks, it's fine as my build is only 1 week into the RFT status. I installed the Turner's on my daughter's M240i, but in that configuration, the rear attachment points are lowered by using 2x Turner's bracket, which unfortunately were short by 1-2 mm's. To avoid butting up the plate to the cooler, I had to insert a couple of fender washers between the brackets and the frame.

May have to switch to the Turner's on the 87 if my car arrives sooner.

I've got the mishimoto going on but this was a concern of mine. how close to the shields are the two side intercoolers? I havent been able to get a read on that. my thinking was if there is an impact pushing up on the spot where the two front facing intercoolers are, my goose is cooked anyway since shit is clearly FUBAR

Drop in replacement w/ no extra hardware. Fit like a glove.
