Also congrats - on both fronts. Enjoy the car! My first car was a gift as well from the parents b/c I earned a scholarship for college (paid 85% of tuition) and after a couple years I was in an accident that totalled it, so I took the insurance value plus I had a good post-college accounting job so pushed for my dream car - the e46 M3. Drove it for a year and then decided to buy a house, so I sold it. Worst decision of all time.

it's a really, really nice volkswagen GT to cart your third wife around Boca Raton in comfort. havent seen anyone under the age of 60 behind the wheel of one newer than a 997 and rarely driven above the speed limit

I haven't quite look but always wonder how a discord group would be like with car people. My discord servers are all for gaming.
If there is a G87 only discord server I would definitely give it a go.

Very interesting thread! I am in my mid-career, owner of BMW and Porsche for the past 10 years, never really a fan of Mercedes, who's on the same boat 🙋🏼

I like 718 gt4 too , but owning a Porsche is really over my budget . I gonna keep this m2 at least 5 years , m2 is sitting at port ready for transport now . Hope see her soon

On topic, about to turn 43 and waiting for my car to be put on a truck from the port. This will be my 3rd M2. Accumulated a decent amount of equity from the M's so this will be my first no money down car. Have had a far amount of health issues that have taken up the a lot of my income so the car is something to have that I can get some enjoyment out of. Just seems like the best bang for the buck right now. Considered a C8 but sat in one and felt somewhat cramped plus its not all that practical for me as it would be my DD. Same could be said about a 992 which I really like but for the foreseeable future its way outside my budget.

Those are the 3 that I am considering myself. M2, Cayman/911, & C8. I think the C8 and M2 are definitely good deals when you consider the performance for dollar. All good cars and would be happy with either.

LOL...the ole "if it were only a manual". I hear ya man. I like the prior gen also. I can't remember what year they changed the front grill...2018?? That is the gen I like. Say what you want but they know how to make a very nice sounding V8.

38. Coming from a 2023 GT4. Car was a lemon so sold it back to Porsche. Decided that with the money I got back I could buy 2 cars and pay off a ton of debt so decided to go that route instead. Now totally debt free instead of mortgage and car payments. Picked up a 2023 Golf R and the M2 should be here Jan/Feb.

29, from an F-something or other 3 series out of college to a used F87 mt a couple winters ago. This car is worth hanging on to and I couldn't be happier.

I wanted a RWD manual fun car to daily.

Figured my chances were only going to get more slim as time goes on.
