Edit, Our SM recently informed me that he is hearing rumblings of a May/June vehicle launch. I am taking it with a grain of salt. Last edited by T_U_D; 01-06-2023 at 10:15 AM.. |

I heard this in Germany almost 2 months ago(12th Nov). This source was specifying June 2023. I will inquire shortly again for an update.

Yes, but shipping within NA is dramatically different than shipping aboard to the EU. Just like shipping from the EU to NA. Unrelated, but we have had new X vehicles that rolled off the line and land on center grounds just 2-3 days after production. Of course this was pre-Covid. |

If June launch is indeed the new date, MY24 cars probably won't be delivered until December or something, I don't see how MY23 could run for less than 6 months...

I wouldn't be surprised if the US does get allocations this month.Allocations for the original M2 stared in January 2016 and there were quite a few F87 deliveries in April 2016.Most of them were HEA spec cars.

A given production date will be used to determine 23 or 24 year of the make. Customers will accept or reject this. It has happend already with M4 orders Im aware of. I dont think this is a complicated process overall.

To answer your question, if your allocation comes up a few months prior to September then I would hold out for the 2024. Last edited by T_U_D; 01-08-2023 at 12:17 PM.. |

If they push allocations until March, it will fix the dilemma of giving up the first spot for bucket seats. |

Hey guys, looking for an M2 allocation and willing to pick it up anywhere in the States, just don't want to pay over MSRP. Any advice/leads?
Thanks in advance. |

ID 8.5 is a strong possibility. The production QC will continually improve over time. No short-sided MY and rapidly accelerated depreciation. Any price increase will not be substantial enough to be felt for those that finance. Last edited by T_U_D; 01-08-2023 at 09:27 PM.. |

Probably continued cost cutting as well with 2024, maybe they'll start removing leather from the steering wheel

If you can get one at MSRP, get one as early as you possibly can. At launch, the hype will be at its highest and the supply at its lowest. The cheapest G87 miles to be had are those on launch cars sold at MSRP during 2023. You may even be paid to drive. I would not risk passing up a ready 2023 allocation for a 2024 that may or may not come in a reasonable amount of time. Even if the 2024 allocation becomes available within a few months, your delivery can still be meaningfully delayed. I sold my ‘21 M4 in August ‘21 for a ready ‘22 allocation that was supposed to deliver in November ‘21; I didn’t get the car until May ‘22. The car sat at the factory 98% built waiting for parts. Others have had their cars sit at the port for extended periods waiting for boats to ride on.
Unless this car ends up not being the hot commodity most expect it to be, absolutely take what’s in front of you right away. If it is as hot as expected, this may become the next always-ADM car (at only $63k base, it’s possible). |

This is my thought. If we were talking a regular car then sure. Wait a couple months for the next MY. But I don't think the M2 will take much, if any, depreciation hit because of MY 23 vs 24. If production ends up being pretty high and supply meets demand then I might change my opinion, but for now, don't pass up a guaranteed '23 for a speculative '24.
