IMO, leniency is the wrong word. I critique the content, given the context. I don't know TH's motives, don't care. I never called anyone a shill or said they were bad or good people. I also don't care whether they like the G87, I'm not a homer. Hagerty and SG's critiques were much more on point and I had no beef with them.

Likewise there were reviews that were positive but I had issues with, factually. The G87 has real flaws, like any car.

The 4th gear test comments are odd imo. 4th gear tops out around 140mph, this is is similar to that old top gear test where they took a c6z06 and did something stupid like started in 6th gear to see how it feels.

They have a direct goal in this. Make money. Entertainment at the cost of objectivity. Sorry they are useless as are about 95% of this narcissistic 'genre' on YouTube. They are not telling you anything of note.

I get much more out of actual owners and long term magazine test results. The idiocy of the internet cannot be overstated and they all laugh to the bank. Dont click dont pay them for something not worth a cent or more importantly YOUR TIME. We did well buying and enjoying cars well before TH or any other 'expert' existed. Rather easily at that!

Maybe they are just bunch of guys that enjoy driving cars and making videos. They were successful turning their hobby into a paying job.

I see nothing wrong here. You don't have to subscribe or watch youtubers you don't like.

Thomas has his own opinions and sometimes they don't reflect my own, but I can respect that.

I watch everything they put out and enjoy it.

I also enjoy the crap out of my MT G87 and know it is a better car _for my situation_ then the F87. I also think they both look good in different ways.

I have the manual G87
It’s fun but it’s not the best manual out there.
The automatic is better for sure

But the manual is still more fun, more engaging. Just wish it had a heavier clutch and gearing took a little effort.

That being said

Maybe they drive the car with the “shift assist” or rev match on.

Which is the absolute worst thing ever. First time I drove my car, it had that setting and I was pissed off.

Joe Achilles in his farewell review of the M3 Competition that he owned and daily for 12 months had a comment that mirrored Throttle House observations. Joe felt the engine was lethargic from lower rpm when in higher gears and also demonstrated it during the review. It is an area for improvement and thankfully someone has the courage to call it out.
