They're made in China. Many household brands are. Quick Google search will yield the vendor stating so. My guess is that only high volume household brands are made stateside that would justify the expensive manufacturing process. The difference between many of these Chinese brands is the certification required by the vendor. For example, to sell in Germany they need to pass vigorous certification as opposed to the US and many vendors do exactly that and sell them globally advertising the certification.

Ceramic coating helps some, more so with clean up than prevention. I did mine same time as ppf and ceramic on the rest of the car. Also provides some protection if you go a while between cleanings. Low dust pads are really the way to go if you want to be proactive though.

Replacing brake pads on a car with 700 miles just seems silly to me but I get it's the best solution.

Agreed. No way I’m spending money to replace new parts.

Occasional cleaning is fine with me.

Agreed. Was just stating what would work to be proactive. For me personally, new forged wheels that also happen to have a simpler spoke design and easier to clean will come before the pads.

I'll be switching to EBC redstuff pads this spring. I had them on my N54 135i and was happy with the street performance and very little dust. I'll report my findings.

I’ve considered that. The stock G87 wheels are the toughest to clean among all the cars I’ve owned. Our F22 are a piece of cake.

I hope the ceramic coating lessens the work.

Picked it up on 1/24, I just hit 450 miles. So far I’ve done:

MAXcam 360c radar/dash cam combo

30% window tint

DIY Cup Holder (Travel Buddy style)

4x Alcantara upgrades
  1. M Performance arm rest
  2. F22 shift knob
  3. Redline Goods custom boot
  4. AutoID/TRE full Alcantara wheel

I do have a silly question. How the hell do I add a signature to my post

NO!

The travel buddy is made for Corvettes, it wedges under the trim and sits flush against the drive shaft hump.

I have one left over from a prior Vette, but it’s way too tall for the M2. I figured I could make one for myself, so I got one of these and a 12” x 12” piece of 1/8” plastic sheet on amazon.

If I attached the cup holder directly to the piece that was wedged under the trim it would have been way too low, so I attached another piece of plastic to the wedged piece and put the holder on that piece up where it’s useful.

I was in a hurry at work when I made it, so all of the cuts were done free hand with a jig saw. Some day soon I’ll make another one that actually looks as good as it works and post a few pics.

Right now it’s just on a suction cup mount using the cigarette lighter power cord. I ordered a Blend Mount that should be here Friday, once it arrives I’ll hard wire the power and post pics

A few hours ago was the start to some decent snowfall here in the Twin Cities. I drove around town bringing my kiddo to karate and back. Car held really well on the main roads but some side roads were kinda slick- I don't mind traction control being my friend today.

I also noticed a message on the screen pop up saying something like "slippery road ahead in 200 feet" when I was on a side road. Sure as heck I go around a corner to find a very slippery spot with some snow accumulation. Also, got an "uneven road surface ahead" as I approached a railroad track the other day.

How does it know??

Most people are familiar with Waze type apps. If someone 10 minutes in front of you reports a speed trap, it tells you to slow down.

I’ve been wondering how connected the M2 really was. Most likely someone else on the same system recently hit that patch and engaged traction control enough to alert the AI overlords. Since they’re still pretending to be our friends, they alerted you of a slick spot

This happened to me too.

I actually still don't see the option to edit signature.

I joined, posted/replied to a handful of stuff...

...then saw the option to edit signature. Did so, and then I lost my posts and replies, and lost the button the edit signature.

Haven't seen it since. Am I on probation or something?

I’ve been playing with my sig and other info as I have time. So far it seems like everything is working as I’d expect it to now.
