Thank you. They are satin black , by the way.

Satin is in between gloss and flat, for reference

If you have adaptive dampers, springs are really your best option unless you are going to be at the track often.
Ian how are those springs doing? I'm looking at the Eibach Pro Kit, which lowers the height by 20 mm. It's a "conservative" option. However, I'm worried that the adaptive dampers might suffer too much... Do you think the change in damper reliability is significant? I've heard all kinds of opinions.

I have the pros and there is no change on the adaptive dampers reliability but only had them 6 months or so so far

Dinan springs advertise the same change in height. Spring rate matters too and I do not know how the two offerings compare, but would expect them to be similar.

Springs are doing great 250 miles in. I have a "1% of the time" clunk that happens in the front right but I think its a loose swaybar or swaybar preload.

Suspension works perfect and silent over speedbumps, dips, handling scenarios. Car is much much improved over stock form. Especially noticeable on accleration and breaking, but also in body role.

Comfort mode and sport mode are both stiffer than stock as expected, but im still happy with comfort for highway cruising and rougher roads to improve the ride.

If I don't want to put spacers on how bad will the stock rims/tires look? I plan to get 245/35/19 tires after the winter but for now will only have 225 on with the springs. I guess I'm curious just how bad it will look or if it'll be "ok" for now.

So, imo, lowered car doesn't look good without spacers. It only accentuates the inset of the wheel because you moved the fender closer to the tire...

What's your hesitation with spacers?

I agree with you on the not looking good thing. My goal is to get rid of the inset look.
I've heard a mix of things (about 50/50) saying it will cause issues long term on the wheel bearings, suspension bushings, control arms, etc..

I was just going to buy some rims with a lower offset this summer since it seems to be a safer route. Though even this has the same issues as spacers just less points of failure from what I've read. I don't track my car or anything so I don't even know how much it'd matter.

Getting the offset and width to meet your needs it the ideal, but I've tracked cars for since 2016 and know many people (myself included) who have used spacers in these extreme conditions with no problem.

I have them on my current car and will track it with them as well. I've had top level racers assure me that good ones are completely safe.

I think people who dont understand the situation make a bigger deal out of it than it is. If you are running a 25mm or 30mm spacer, sure you are really messing with things, but at a 12mm spacer which is what works on our cars I cant imagine having an issue.

It is better, objectively, to accomplish the same result with wider wheels.

I have the future classic spacers and I really love that they bolt to the hub. Makes taking a wheel off so much more convenient.

You think the Dinan ones are good quality? I was thinking of getting 12mm.
Do you have a link to yours? I looked at their site and can't find G42.

Lots of people make good spacers, some have features that others dont.

If you wanted to get cheaper spacers I would understand, but I prefer to have confidence in my parts.

Will definitely post my results, these are alibaba - about 150 cheaper than rw carbon on sale and im sure they come from the same place. The front of the car needs ... something... but I'm not a fan of the carbon grille surrounds, and I don't think it needs a lip (plus lips are a PITA)

I did the regular black front lip just to get rid of the terrible OEM grey rubber thing. I did get a CF grille which I think pictures don't do justice. The CF side vents would be the final touch but I'll wait and see how fitment goes and how they look on yours. My worry is it will make the car look rice which is the opposite direction I want for this car.

Dinan should be fine. I'm using some from Burger Motorsports.

That looks clean, how is it secured to the car? Ive never used a radar detector and fortunately have not been pulled over in almost 10 years. Do the latest radar detectors do a good job detecting speed traps?

I posted more pictures in the r7 r8 thread on here. It's on a low profile mount that goes on the windshield with black VHB, can't even see it on the outside unless you get up to the windshield.

I used to use a V1 about 8-10 years ago, and that was always great at catching cops, but as time passed it started to pick up lots of blind spot monitoring and other junk alerts. When a detector gives too many alerts it's worthless and annoying.

This R7 is my first from the new generation. It uses integrated GPS to automatically and manually tag false alerts and also can filter most of them out in the first place. Incredibly silent on the drive, but also definitely picks up any radar traps.

In my area, police are using KA band or laser. Laser you can't really do anything about with a detector but waze/Google maps seems to spot those pretty good as they are only on the highway. For back road driving the only way they can actually get you is with radar, which is why I elected to get a good unit.

This is the most stealth of any install I've had, which is a great thing because in my experience the police get pretty short with you when they pull you over and they see a detector on the windshield. (Even if it wasn't a speed stop)

I don't do anything too crazy on the street, but a bunch of towns by me have started to do these insane 25mph "town wide" limits that they enforce on roads that are meant to be 35 or 45mph limit. It should be illegal to set these predatory speed limits, but here we are. The residents who live on main roads want to pretend they bought a house in a good location.

You absolutely can, it shouldn't hurt anything. It just won't look as good as it could.
