This morning was leg day actually, I took it kind of easy since they were pretty damn sore. Was able to get into the gym every day last week, so that was nice. Think I'm sitting at around 185lbs now. Fiance says I should go a little thinner for our wedding, so I'm experimenting with that. Probably going to cut this week since I have a wedding to go to this coming weekend. See where I end up after that. |

I need to work my legs more. I actually enjoy leg day, i just don't like walking like a new born giraffe for 2 days after. The gym starts their 24/7 schedule again today thank goodness. Closing at 7 pm on a Saturday was not ideal for me.

Started my cut last week to lose the covid fluff from a full on 12 week bulk.....if you can call it a bulk when you weight 146 pounds. Already down 6 pounds in a week and half. At this rate my cut shouldn't last too long. Hopefully I can go back to eating and progression soon. I will say that it's nice to see my abs and my "V" again. Shitty thing is, none of my clothes fit....again.
Speaking of, this raises the question how am I losing it so quickly? I'm honestly trying to do it moderately at a rate of a pound a week. My maintenance calories are roughly 1900-2000 as of now and I'm trying to hover around intake of 1600-1700/day, but this shit is just falling off of me. Don't get me wrong, there are worse problems to have but I'm also not trying to lose what little bit of muscle I've gained at the same time. I am making sure to get 1g /lb of protein in each day and actually cycling protein every 4 hours throughout the day to maximize protein synthesis during the cut. It's crazy though at how only after a week, aside from the love handles that are left, in certain light I look shredded, veins popping out everywhere and can see the striations in my muscles. Even with the girlfriend, work stress and normal everyday life; all I can think about is getting rid of these last few pounds of fat so I can start adding calories & progressing again. This damn lifestyle has consumed me.....and I'm loving what I see in the mirror. No one told me that doing this would lead to a mild onset of vanity. |

Agree with Rmtt. I'll add that you could probably up your protein intake if you want to.
Weighed in at 182 yesterday after work yesterday. Had my suit for the wedding show up for a test fitting and everything was too big. So I'm basically going to tell them to drop a size on everything. Suit will then show up 2 weeks prior to the wedding, so hopefully everything fits then lol. Need to hold this size for the next 3monts FML. Also had engagement photos on Monday, they turned out really solid. Girl does some good work for sure! Anyways, lifted legs today before work. Threw in a lot of cardio since I'll be driving back up to PA after work today. Not looking forward to 9hrs in the car lol. |

Getting back into the gym 2 weeks ago definitely hurt (physically & mentally - no strength/endurance), but that was expected. I'm usually around 210-213, but fully clothed on my freight scale, I'm down to 198-201lb (I'm 6' 2.75").
Since my strength and stamina are trying to build back up, I'm working on that with extra cardio to slim down a smidge more, then will work on the bulking. Being extra slim during summertime in FL doesn't hurt, and the wife isn't complaining.

When I lower carbs....I up protein. Carbs are protein sparing so you don't need as much when your carb macros are higher. But when you lower them, your body can convert protein into sugar if needed by a process I have described on here before. It's rare that it happens...but still could happen.

Made it in last night, chest/bi. This morning my connective tissues are what are sore, despite me keeping it light. Blood was 45 when I woke up too, despite the midnight 20g of glucose tabs, and the series of handfuls of cheerios at 9:30 before I fell asleep. Might have to lower the long-acting insulin dose a few.
I'm sorry Moddie, I did NOT capture your lost pounds, I weighed in at 192 last night. That means I lost AT LEAST 10 of muscle because the belly certainly isn't any smaller than the last time I went. Myself and one other "more senior" member of the gym crowd were the only ones with any face coverings, and his was around his neck. Because I ran with the gators on, lifting isn't any challenge aerobically |

Today was day 2 of being back to the gym. I don't know what it is, but benching at home is totally different than at the gym. I find I'm struggling more at home. Can't put my finger on it. Haven't weighed my olympic bar yet. Not sure if I have a non standard 45lb bar and it's actually heavier or it's the adjustable bench being wider.
But I'm definitely down in strength across the board. It could be worse if I didn't have my home gym to tie me over. I can imagine me shrinking down even worse than has happened. Noticed the monsters in the gym are still as big as they were before the shutdown and from what I recall are throwing up/down the same weights. Don't know how these guys have been able to maintain. Others have shrunk down. What pisses me off and I guess this part should go into the annoyances thread are the a-holes that still don't clean up after themselves. It's usually the ones that you can tell are not really serious about making working out a significant part of their life. Watched this dude go from bench to bench not re-racking his weights after being done and not wiping down as required during these times. |

I started back this past Saturday. No one in there yet! 35 people max, 6 feet apart, don't need to wear a mask. Just wipe everything down 10 times, hand santizer everywhere so best of luck right?
Most people are still very concerned as they should be. I just hope I get lucky and not get it based upon my reduced exposure to everyone. Go to the grocery store every weekend and that's pretty much it. So far so good! |
