I may be wrong but I think the ship is further offshore than that system...plus, that is a recent event. The ship has been dancing around all day. The weather may just add to its deviations, twists and turns. |

Is Baltimore the next stop for sure? Or just best guess? My CA told me when it hit the ship that 8/16 was the estimated port date...and I don't want to assume the logistics, but my dealer is like 30 miles from Baltimore, so I hope to hell that it unloads there.

That 16th date is absurd. It will not take 7/8 days to travel to Baltimore from Jacksonville. When Glovis Sirius departs Jacksonville it should arrive in Baltimore within a day to day and a half, barring no mechanical issues or weather/sea related issues. Edit, I believe I have previously stated this, but the original arrival date for Baltimore was the 9th. This was prior to GS getting assigned to offload at Port Jacksonville. Assuming you have not items being port installed, you will just be waiting on a truck to get cars to the dealership. This is not always as fast as it seems. Could be a day or two, could be a week or more. |

When my CA told me I'm on the Glovis Sirius back on 7/25, he showed me a screen shot of the estimated arrival being on 8/19. I don't know if that means at the dealership, which is 20-30 min from Bayonne, or at the Bayonne port in NJ.

FYI, It takes 4/5 days for a ship to get from Altamira to Brunswick and 6/7 days from Altamira to Baltimore. The 19th simply does not mesh with port arrival. I am off for the next few days and traveling so I am unable to look myself.

This is odd, unless my car is going to NJ as well. Cause my CA told me Aug 19th also, but I only have his word, no screen shot of anything. (Not sure if you saw my earlier post but Baltimore would be the port that makes the most sense for my dealer, but who knows)

I'm doing the BMW HAS kit so I was originally telling myself 2 weeks once it hits port. But now that I see the ship might get to Baltimore this week, I'm getting cautiously optimistic. I have to drive from NY to MD and my work schedule is all over the place. But it is close enough where I might be "sick" one day and show up to work with a new car the next day.

No idea, just sharing what I was told on 7/25. To be frank, the Glovis Sirius came out of nowhere and wasn't even on anyone's radar, for all we know it has 5 more stops somewhere.

That depends on what "your port" is. If its Baltimore, the work will be done there. If that is the port its offloading at and being trucked to a different port, the port installation will be at the other port. Ask your CA what their dealership's port is. For instance, "my port" is Brunswick, so it will be offloaded at Baltimore and then "trucked" to Brunswick where the port installed items will be done. Been stuck at the local port up here in nj due to a flat tire for 3 weeks now. Feels absurd it takes a month to get / change a flat tire, but here we are. dealer is trying to get involved, but I have low hopes they're able/willing to do anything to speed this up.

Looking at the Baltimore port expected arrivals, Glovis Sirius isn't even on the list from now thru the 15th. Which is slightly worrying. Hopefully it's not also stopping in DC and Delaware. Last edited by rcouchh; 08-09-2023 at 05:29 PM.. |

Posted in the other thread but figured I would here too...
Glovis Sirius is now going to PHILADELPHIA next... port is 10 mins from me. But my port isn't Philly... it's Newark, NJ. So it will likely go to Philly, backtrack to MD, god knows where else. Wtf is this thing doing and how do I carjack it off this damn boat instead of just watching it come and go |
