Addressing the front rubbing issue
So as I posted previously, with the 19x9.5"+5 VT Forged SL-As and 285/35s up front at stock ride height I was getting rubbing on the fender liner at not quite full lock which made very rude and embarrassing sounds. It was enough to break the plastic louvers on one side. The rubbing is confined to a small area near the outside of the liner and I considered doing a mod myself but did not have the bandwidth right now, so I got the very expensive RKP modified liners from IND.
The following photos show 1) & 2) the area of rubbing, 3) the new liners, 4) using a heat gun and dolly to bend the ridged area, 5) the wheel well with liner removed, and 6) new liner in place. The result was successful, but there is still only about a millimeter clearance at that raised ridge area, but slight contact is not going to hurt anything. I am concerned that the open mesh of the new liner is going to let more debris through coming off the tire compared the the angled louvers.

Finally got the 3-piece carbon caps with ZB outer ring added to the SLAs. Subtle but gives a nice accent imo.

I stopped to snap a couple pics of my ride while doing a shoot for someone else, so it's not a photoshoot level of quality but doesn't look too bad 😁😁
Thanks again to Andy for the great deal on some awesome wheels. Evert time I stop to get gas someone comes up and starts asking me about the wheels now lol |

I finally got mine installed after some Ceramic coatings and running stock sized tires until they wear a bit more.

275/35-19s should not rub; my 285/35s do. 275/30-20s are 0.1" smaller OD than the 275/35-19s so theoretically will not rub.

If you go with our aggressive flush fitment which pushes out a few more mm, you may have a tiny bit of rubbing depending on your drop. If you go to a taller tire like a 285, then that will also possibly induce more rubbing issues. Going to a 20" up front does not induce more rubbing as the overall diameter stays similar to a 19" setup. |
