My CA let me know the recall has been fixed on my car and is just waiting on a truck to get assigned and deliver it to the dealer.

1 long month

It hasn’t been that bad really. I was expecting it here about 2 weeks ago. I told my CA over a year ago I wanted on the list so a couple extra weeks isn’t too bad.

Actually yes. While it was there I was able to get the mp has springs installed. I didn’t know that was an option and my CA was able to call the port and get them added. Thanks to this forum for the info.

Congrats. Did your CA happen to mention what exactly was done to remediate the problem? So far all I have heard or read is the tower strut front left.

He did not. I will ask if he knows anything when I pick up the car, but he has not had any detailed info yet.

In exactly the same situation. My car has been sitting at the VPC for 10 days now and at first, it was supposedly not assigned a carrier. However, now after that estimated ship date has passed, I'm being told there most likely it is because the port installed accessories have not been installed. No ETA either. So just patiently going to sit & wait here.. but it sucks big time.

This question clearly was not geared towards me, but my client that has had his unit sitting at SLP for the past month has a host of port installed M performance accessories to be installed. I fear that we may never see this thing.

I’m just glad I ordered shit to install myself, granted it’s not Mperf stuff but I’m glad I know I won’t have to wait another month plus to install something that I can do at home. I totally get the warranties etc but I WANT MY CAR

Agreed. Our next unit in the pipeline, the client wanted to add some M performance items. I advised them that they would be better off to purchase the items online and DIY or have our service department do the install, otherwise they would only be prolonging their delivery.

The real takeaway is that BMW is NOT providing enough information for buyers to make informed buying decisions, and that's really a shame. It doesn't have to be this way, this information COULD be made available via a customer or CA portal.

You won’t in a few days or week when you get it. All this time quickly fades just like the F87 in your mirror.

Unless you're in fourth gear of course...

I see that the VIN Status in the https://bmw-recall-tool.netlify.app/ lookup tool has changed from Open to Closed. Looks promising.

Finally after over a month at the processing center with stop sale, my car released today to the carrier, scheduled for dealer delivery on the 27th.

Finally have a SIB which describes the issue in detail and shows how they are going about to correct it. Although this doesn't list the G42/G87 it describes the exact same issue for the G20 which we know were also affected by the stop sale. I suspect they may update this SIB in a future revision to include those models. Another possibility is the issue was isolated enough with those models that any cars that were affected are already being addressed.
