This is not correct, 10 level traction control and drift analyzer is standard on the G87, at least for the US spec cars:

On m3/m4 it is a 900 dollar package and gives you drift analyzer with 10 levels of traction. It is a toy on a rwd car
It only makes sense on awd since its the only way to have some traction control on rwd mode

Better question is - are comfort access and hk stereo standard in us ? Because in canada they are part of premium pack
This is not accurate. M Drive Professional is standard equipment.

Here's a screen capture from the official review video where you can see the 10 stage traction control on the bottom of the screen

I'm happy to hear this feature is standard, when it's a $900 option on the M4.

If folks had a better understanding what this feature allows, they would surely be ranting about it:

Selecting the optional M Drive Professional brings the new M Traction Control function. Making its debut in the new BMW M3 and M4, this new traction control allows the driver to set the intervention thresholds for wheel slip. The iDrive menu for this system displays ten stages of defined permitted wheel slip. The new traction control option gives the driver the ability to select the ideal balance of racing-car performance and directional stability for the situation, the road conditions and their personal preferences. This allows them to approach the limits on the track by reducing the extent of control system inputs in stages.

Good stuff 👍🏻

So far from what I see, BMW really didn't overdo it on the pricing structure for the M2, at least for the US market.

Any word if the sunroof is included gratis also?

Sunroof has to be standard since it is not listed as an option like the carbon roof. Base G42 comes with the sunroof as standard, I seriously doubt the G87 lacking compared to the G42…

My 2002 Boxster (base model) with a 5-speed manual was the best car ever.

Perfectly balanced. Balanced in terms of performance, luxury, utility, cost, etc. I called it my Goldilocks car. Just right.

Now, yeah, I did buy a 2008 Cayman S in April 2009. I decided on the S just to experience the extra power (and I thought I might miss the power of the 2006 GTO (6.0l V8 with 400hp) I was trading in and Porsche made it even easier by discounting the new Cayman S -- by $12,000!. List was $62.6K and I got the car for $50.6K.

Unfortunately the Cayman was hit and totaled just 4 weeks after I bought it.

Tried to find another Cayman but they were all gone. Some nice Boxsters left but I still had my 2002 and didn't want a 2nd Boxster. Ended up with a 996 Porsche Turbo with a 6-speed.

While I really like my 2022 230i, if there was a Porsche dealer in the area I'd have a Cayman in a heart beat.

Can't beat that mid-engine layout for handling and road feel.

Thanks but the F22 M235i had a standard sunroof also but on the M2 it was a $1,100 option in the US, so it could go either way. Who knows with BMW but as you mentioned it's not listed as an paid option, so that bodes well for it being free.

I wouldn't consider the M2 an "entry-level" vehicle just because it has the lowest base price. The fact is that the M2 is the best driving M vehicle therefore /= entry-level.

Real ones know.
I get it, I can buy a G80 (and did), but prefer the smaller size of the M2.

That said, it's technically the "entry level" M car.

You obviously love that Cayman, toiling the decision to sell it, low torque and all. While it could have 4 seats for the kids, it's your escape, your dream car.

I once had an Evo MR, I loved that car like no other. Had everything an enthusiast could want (sans the plain interiors), the sound of that 4 cyl. engine, wastegate, the turbo boost, clicks and clatters of the dual clutch Getrag 6 speed transmission. It had 4 wheel drive and ungodly amounts of grip and amazing driving dynamics. It was my baby, washed weekly, detail sprayed every few days, waxed her monthly, garage kept and covered daily.

One day the car whisperer (my wife) complained about the $300 a month gas bill, car payments, fact we needed a larger more practical SUV, and after only having my 2012 Wicked White Lancer Evolution MR for 14 months, I sold my dream for a big loss.

My car was fully loaded, almost $45k, sold it with less than 10k miles in 2014, and to this day I regret that decision. Friend, we only live once. Don't let practically get in the way of your dreams. Get a beater if you need four doors and upgrade to a GTS! Life is short.

My Baby…
This is why I keep my cars
Yes, those Evo's are memorable (I had a 2005 MR) I still miss it. Still have a 95' Eclipse GSX that needs a clutch. But I sure appreciate my 18' f87.

Depends on what state you live in.

Our chapter, BMWCCA - Oregon is fantastic. Regular, organized drives on the best, twistiest roads, monthly Cars & Coffee, holiday fundraisers for the local children's hospital, etc. Plus, great people and amazing cars.

Well worth it.

Agreed… I've met some really great people

This was my first year as a member of BMWCCA with zero regrets

I've been on 2 overnight tours and several events including one at Griot's corporate store in Tacoma WA

Are you getting one Poochie?

This car looks like it spends ever day at the Gym compared to the F87

Very bold design I must say

That's good to hear! Lucky you got to see it in person, I know some colors are truly difficult to capture in photos, so you had a distinct advantage there witness it in the flesh.

I was never one to put too much emphasis on a vehicle's design, the nerd in me always beeline to the spec sheet first, then accepted whatever the chosen appearance is but I was just initially taken back on how aggressive the styling appeared in the leaked photos. I much rather prefer something sporty but still constrained however, I could see this vehicle working in a black hue, as it neuters a lot of its bodywork's rambunctiousness.

When the initial fanfare subsides and I can negotiate a decent price for one, I more than likely will scoop it up. But ain't no way I'm paying above sticker or markup, which I believe is still currently a fact of life.

Copy and Paste from the new exterior color poll. I just wanted to state this here as well.

No U.S. Center has been allocated anything as of yet. Centers are placing customer specs into the order bank which is basically notifying NA that they have got a customer(s) waiting with a priority one build, please give us an allocation ASAP.

M2 calipers

Looking at images, the new 2023 rear calipers seem to be seem to be a downgrade from the outgoing M2C. Or am I missing something?

You are correct. It is due to the electric E brake.

No, just a deposit to be added. It's a car not a damn club. If allocations are available they are so because they haven't been filled at that particular dealership. I wouldn't pay a dealer to take my money, crazy.

That's what I'm saying.. I didn't have to make a deposit, do they usually take deposits to be added to the order bank or is my dealer doing me a favor?
