Yeah good luck. I had State Farm years ago and they were the worst to work with. Hopefully you get your car back sooner rather than later.

Fuck. Sorry Hemi. Those folks are rotten bastards. Sucks we’ve all had to learn the hardway.

I’ve heard good things about Erie, any experience with them?

Has anyone dealt with Amica? CCA is always pushing them. If I get the wherewithal I’m going to shop around. Surprising to me, the Tesla Model 3P has a higher Premium than the M2. Maybe all the idiots screwing around with AutoPilot and FSD? I have FSD but not sure if they can see that.

Erie is who this shop cites as their best partner, and who I'm swapping to in case I find myself in the need of their services again.

I have heard good things about Amica with homeowners insurance. They are "private" meaning you have to go through them directly for coverage. Agents cannot deal with them.

I switched to Amica for all my policies a few years ago. Seems good, but I haven't had to file a claim (knock on wood).

Amica is a great company. Been with them for over 50 years for HO and auto. Had 2major claims. First was a auto involving a 93 integra less than a year old. Car was hit by a truck, spun around hitting another car and into the guard rail. Every panel had some damage including a smashed windshield. I think we paid $18,000 for the car. Adjustor said he would have totaled but could not because the salvage was so low. Agreed on 11,000. Body shop did a great job but driving away brake light went on. Long story short cost another 3,000 to fix. Amica didn’t blink an eye paid up and said they should have totaled Kept the car 10 years. Other claim was a furnace blow back. Soot had to be cleaned and then painted. Cost thousands. Never any problem with settlement.
I would highly recommend them.

Amica is very good. They take care of you but @ a premium. They are one of the more expensive brands. AIG Private Client is also great.

Progress? They speak in terms of "weeks" but in just a few days I went from 5th to 3rd for disassembly LOL. I mean, I know disassembly just informs the real extent of work, and it probably will be weeks for the work, but they seem to getting me to front of the line sooner than estimated.

Under promise over perform?

So last week they asked the shop to write an estimate since State Farm's database wasn't updated. The shop provided that estimate yesterday, as noted earlier about 19K.

Today, State Farm said "well no no, we did our estimate on Friday and it is just over 6K."

The guy at the shop correctly admonished the adjuster for wasting his and my time. He said their estimate is "wildly inaccurate," and he's right, none of their part numbers are correct, and no where near enough to fix the car. State Farm said "You can just follow the supplement process now."

Mother fuckers are going to make this painful.

I also just spoke to shop, as I reported before, it's going to be about 6 weeks before they can even get to disassembly. At least it'll be done right.
For those that care to follow along, a simple (and cheap) phone call from an attorney and State Farm today provided a new estimate that matches the original shop estimate and paid it immediately.

Awesome experiences with Amica. They pay up and don’t screw you around. 2000 integra 4 door GSR got stolen after 9 months and about 9k miles. They covered an after market sway bar. I think I lost $1k from price I originally paid.

They also covered my fathers kitchen when the dishwasher broke and required the kitchen to be gutted. They also recommended a contracting company that was outstanding to work with.

Lastly they covered a bumper repair on my m240i. I brought the car in for repair at my dealers attached bmw auto body who done perfect repairs on my friends cars. Found out my dealers auto body shop is a Amica recommend repair shop.

I got all the parts for my G42 M240 except for the inner fender liners (I am told they are on their way). I was originally told it could take weeks or months so hopefully you fare as well as I did.

Of course, the shop doing my repairs is still fighting with the lady's insurance company (they are coming in short iao $1,000).

After disassembly and further inspection, repairs are at 32,600. Lots of things back ordered.

Going to take a while I think.

I just spoke with my local insurance agent who spoke to the claims department. The latest supplement triggered an adjuster to go look at the car with the shop.

We think there's a good chance it moves towards total. Not because it actually is totaled, but because the costs are only going to go up from here and if there's months of lead time on some parts, they may not want to take the risk of the car sitting waiting on parts and costs continuing to rise.

So when the adjuster goes to the shop, if the shop says there could be more revealed and the parts are going to be a while (a lot of things say backordered no ETA), then I think they're going to total it.

If that happens, then I'm waiting for either

a) Manual z4 M40i allocation (already on a list)

or

b) 2025MY M2 allocation (because of the changes/colors)(also already on list).

a is likely my preferred option, TBH.

You've been talking up the Z4 ever since they announced the manual. I'm sure you'll love it. When you get your alloc I definitely want to see what you specced.

I don't have room for another car in my life, but if I did I'd really look at the MT Z4.
