Could look at forums and swap with someone I’ve seen that around. I know a couple people with the manual that hate the nut crusher in the middle everytime they shift their leg gets all weird too because the seat isn’t straight.

Where did you see BMW call it an LCI?

It is actually 285km/h if you get the M Drivers Package (250km/h otherwise), just that 177mph is the closest conversion in mph. Same speed limiters as the other M-cars. BMW, MB and Audi had gentleman's agreements some years ago with TUV in Germany to put speed limiters on their cars for Autobahn use to try and stave off more rigid enforcement.

I’ve never liked the São Paulo yellow on any other car before, but for some reason it looks great here. Maybe my opinion will change later.

Regardless, I’m happy with my Zandvoort blue. Random people love the color too. Even more than the car itself, it seems.

The M2’s top speed is lower than the M3 and M5.
https://www.autoevolution.com/news/g...sir-47736.html

TUV seemed to be under pressure some decades ago to limit speeds on the Autobahn, so speed limiters self-imposed by the major performance car German manufacturers at 250km/h staved off any possible legislation.

Tyres in the past have been a problem, but most decent summer tyres are now Y-rated at 300km/h.

Without the M Drivers Package the M-Cars have the same 250km/h speed limiter.

But because this isn’t a rule, they go out of this agreement for special cases.
Porsche thinks all their cars are special cases, so all reach higher speeds, as it’s part of the essence of their cars, being sports cars.

M cars with the M drivers package go as follows in terms of governed top speed:

M2: 285 Km/h
M3: 290 Km/h
M5: 305 Km/h
I’m sure the manufacturers will still limit the “special cases” though and not push too many cars too high, otherwise the German politicians will weigh-in, as the public sentiment is now towards imposing Autobahn speed limits: https://www.dw.com/en/german-highway...els/a-68911999

The largest driving factor overall seems to be political in setting the speed limiters, as opposed to technical.

I mean, in determining the difference between the 2 cars.
Likely just the big picture of not pushing things too far with too many cars, so those paying more money will get a little more. There is nothing in the drivetrain that the M2 is limited to vs the M3 and from my background in aerodynamics, the M2 actually is likely to have better high speed stability due to the more gradual rear roofline. No technical reason for the speed difference I can see.

I don’t think 0.1m is enough to make that much difference that would require a different speed limiter.

At 210km/h on track, the M3 comp, M4 comp and M2 (auto) all had similar stability in a straight line when I drove them, M2 had slightly better turn-in due to the shorter wheelbase and slightly different spring/damper tuning, but nothing that affected stability.

The M2 also had more resilient brakes compared with the AWD cars on steel brakes with their extra weight, so that characteristic would point towards having a higher speed limiter from a technical perspective.

The marketing decision may be the most likely, but without the “gentleman’s agreement” with TUV, there really isn’t any reason to have a limiter on any of the cars if fitted with Y or (Y) rated tyres, the more powerful cars with the best aerodynamics would then naturally have a higher top speed.

The M2 in 2023/24 form should be capable of around 305km/h top speed.

Twilight is my favorite I think. It may come down to which ine looks best with the interior choice. If we had a brown option still it would be brown regardless. Since cognac seems gone, we will see what the interior stitching color options are.

I was originally team voodoo, but have since switched to team Grigio. I feel like I’ll be happier in the long term with Grigio as a daily driver. Plus it lend itself to a more cohesive build, without mixing so many colors.

The car is plenty stable at top speed, mine tops out at 293km/h, and you feel it when you hit the limiter, the car has enough revs and power to push over 300
