Today marks 3 months since I ordered my car. The irony is the car went into scheduled for production status at the time they entered in my configuration. It went back to order received (for the second time) last week, the same week I get T-boned by a clueless elderly driver🙄 If they total out the car I will need something sooner than the M240 will be ready, especially if they keep dragging their feet.

Also to the comments people have made about rates… thank the powers that be for intentionally making your purchase more "difficult." It sounds like the Fed rate hikes will continue through the end of the year and then begin pivoting in January. This would make late this fall THE WORST time to finance or lease a car. I might buy a craigslist cash car until this storm blows over😂

Fortunately you can always refinance once rates improve, this is my plan.

I am locked in at 4.09 until 8/1, and I am trying to talk my dealer into letting me give them these funds early, as if I can't, I have to re-apply for financing at 4.79 which will hold for another 45 days.

Anyone have any info on what's going on with Glovis Spirit? On what day it's supposed to show up at NJ/NY? It was originally scheduled for 7/18 but 2 days later and it's still at port at Baltimore. Let's go Glovis Spirit!!

I've watched as PenFed advertised rates went from 1.99, to 2.49... now they're 4.75 and still rising...

Definitely going to refinance at the first opportunity I get.

Yeah, penfed is who I have 4.09 with, dealer just told me they can't take the funds early, so I'll be reapplying/re-locking every 45 days

my dealer just informed me that BMWFS is going to honor my 1.9% rate from January. picking up my car tomorrow! are you guys sure your dealer is not able to help you out?

Did you try with BMWFS? They should be able to still get you 3.99% for now.

Yeah I can get 3.99 @ 60, but I prefer 72 months even though I end up making the 60 month payment or more and finish in 5 years or less.

Strange. So I probably SHOULD have applied for financing back in April when I ordered knowing that BMWFS might honor rates that have gone beyond the lock period and the rate when I ordered was like 2.99% or something like that. I did my financing paperwork last week and I got 3.99%. I don't think it's a promo or anything but that's what I got.

Ah yeah, should have clarified that 3.99% is with a 60 month term.

what did you have to do to get them to honor it? I also ordered back in January and my car is on the Glovis Spirit. About a month ago the BMW Finance person at my dealership told me that my financing had expired and I would have to reapply. Also that they could file for an exception to get the rate we agreed upon in January when I put my deposit down, but that there was no guarantee. Basically also told me I was lucky BMW allows for any lock-ins because they also own a Ford dealership where that doesn't happen to which I wanted to tell her to **** off and that BMWs are a little different than Fords. Anyway, I didn't say that and I handled it professionally, but now I want to broach the topic before the car arrives. If you have any advice on getting them to stick to what we agreed upon, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Yes now 3.99% through BMW was 2.99% in April which is the rate I’m trying to get since I ordered in March.

Mine is on Glovis Spirit as well. I talked to BMW Genius today and they said on their end it is to arrive in Bayonne today. I told him that would be pretty incredible considering I'm satellite tracking it and it is currently in the Port of Baltimore. So the hope is that it arrives by this Friday. Fingers crossed!

I have been fairly lucky as I have not had any issues with my dealer and they seem to be extremely straight-forward and play no games. I did have to re-apply for financing at the higher rate and then we started crunching numbers. 2 days later (today) I was told that BMWFS approved the rate exception. I did not have to do anything. I believe it all depends on how your dealer works for you... or if they're scummy. my dealer is also giving me $1k under MSRP, which is better than another local dealer that wanted $5k over for all orders, no matter what. driving 30 extra minutes is not a big deal for me with the savings and no-hassle of the entire process.

She didn’t go very far ,now docked at Sparrows Point 8 miles away.

I'm off today so I'm not able to log in and check the tracker, I'm purposely avoiding my garage so I walk in tomorrow morning and am hopefully pleasantly surprised. Congrats friendo, the end is in sight!!!

Turns out my dealer sent me a screenshot later this afternoon showing me still in Work Order Complete status and NOT Released to Carrier. It's either the guy at Genius lied to me (which is surprising considering he seemed to be the most knowledgeable person I've spoken to) or he knows/sees something my dealer can't (which I doubt). Dont even know what to think anymore
