My company used to have a small facility in Pointe-Claire that I would have to visit every 2 months or so.

Healthcare is far from free in Canada, we are taxed at very high rates to pay for the free healthcare, and if we get free university tuition then we will pay higher taxes again.

damn man you were in Bosnia during the genocide? I was a kid back then but I remember watching the news; amazing that the whole thing happened in the middle of the so called modern civilized Europe and was ended only because a US president decided to deflect attention from his own impeachment.

Yessir. It was quite rough. I was there in a capacity to help - can't imagine what it was like to have been born and raised there.

Most people in the western world today just don't understand and are too quick to forget.

I agree. It was a bad time, especially considering that we had “peace keepers” but they could not engage or anything so it was pretty pointless. I know most people hated them because people are getting slaughtered but no one could do anything. Even today the country is going to shit since we have basically 3 countries all trying to pull in their own direction.

Agreed. In my defense, I was in the military at the time, but was seconded out and was working for the U.S. Government in a different capacity related to intelligence collections. As such, I didn't have to abide by the U.N. Charters.

Having said that, however, there was much we should have been able to do as a country (the USA) and yet were ham-stringed by the United Nations.
