Confirmed it left on a truck to the dealership 40 mins ago!!! Only 1.5 hour drive, hoping it goes straight there. Today is probably a stretch, but I should be able to take delivery tomorrow!!

There was another M2 my dealer has coming from same ship/port... it's still there. My very first sliver of luck has arrived, nearly 6 months after my allocation. LETS GOOOOOOOOO
You know we’re expecting to see pics tomorrow, right?

Landlocked? The Spartanburg plant, by definition, is landlocked. There are also M versions of the SUVs that go via allocation. Dingolfing is no different.

The M3/M4/M5 from Germany also need to go through the same processes to be delivered to buyers outside of Germany, and have the same timing issues. How is this any different than Mexico? The ports in the US are over full and screwed up, regardless of where the ship comes from. At least the ship ride from Veracruz to the east coast ports us shorter than Germany to the US.

Its not just BMW with these delay issues, uts all foreign manufacturers.

Not trying to criticize, just replying and trying to figure out what you are trying to say.
I guess I didn't make the point clearly.

I was not implying there is anything wrong with the M2's factory location. I posted in other places that it is a very good location, with a rail terminal that can take cars to both the Pacific and Gulf/Atlantic. SLP is a great factory and location. Also not claiming M2 is worse than M3/4.

The point is that the enthusiast cars (M2, M3/4, Porsche GTx, Corvette, etc) are typically built in single manufacturing location, low volume, long lead time order to deliver.

The SUVs/CUVs (X1, X3, A5/Macan, etc) are high volume, often with more than one assembly line in US, Europe, China to be closer to market and reduce lead times.

The latter drives the profits of these automakers. Not our M and GT cars.

In any event - all that is redundant talk to release my frustration in waiting for my order to show some movement.

That’s really exciting man, I’m happy for you. You’ve been on a hell of a journey for this car and it’s finally coming to a close. You better post pics from the dealership!

Good to see some of your guys’ cars finally get close to delivery.

Mine hit Baltimore 8/13 and is still at port for a work order. No one seems to know what that would work order is, or when it will be completed.

Just placed the order today. The dealer adjusted an existing order they had in the system. I received my production code, but noticed they forgot the eSIM. I’m going to head back in the morning to get it adjusted. They had 2 orders in the queue already, so I’m hoping they put mine with the week 37 schedule, not the week 43 schedule.

I'm watching your progress and using it as a template for my own car haha 6 months isn't looking promising. Meanwhile dealer is trying to talk me out of buying an in between car (cause they keep asking if I'm going to walk away from the M2)

Mine switched to Ready for Transport when it left the factory. So they say. lol

Morning Chant is anchored outside of the port right now, but hasn't been moored yet to load cars.

If you are trusting the tracker, no, not even close (that would technically mean its ready to board the train for transport to Mexico port). With that said, stop watching and trusting the tracker. Check with your CA and have them run a VIR. That will tell you EXACTLY where your car is and when its on the ship, they will be able to tell you what ship (you can then track the ship thru marinetraffic).

We’ve been through this before.
No.
My dealer will not show me a VIR. They’re more vague than the tracker. They keep saying it’ll be here by the end of the month “just trust me we do this all the time.”

That is BS...go to the sales manager or operations manager there and raise hell. EVERY CA has the ability to run a VIR on their customer's car and prove a visual of the results.

My build as well. Our cars could be on the same ship to New York/NJ. Unsure which port they are heading to in the north east

Doubtful would still likely need to go to waiting for carrier before in transit but who knows could jump steps too as many have seen multiple movements on the same day.
