Car left VPC on truck to dealer at 1pm yesterday. 1 hour drive. Still hasn’t made it there and it closes in a few hours. Not open Sunday.

I can’t take this anymore

If I am remembering correctly, some of the last batch of people on here that had their cars get on a boat still were showing "ready for transport" despite being on a boat. That's what I keep telling myself two+ weeks after being in "ready for transport" lol.

We knew that by checking with our CA and following VIRs from them. The tracker is a useless product at this time (and has been for months).

Just spoke to my CA to go over the eSIM. He reminded me of why I had declined it initially, so I’m keeping it off the build. Gotta give him credit for understanding my use case, giving me the pros/cons, and offering a good assessment.
I’m scheduled for week 41 production. Hoping to take delivery around Thanksgiving.

I mean it's better than nothing. Not everyone has an attentive CA that will respond quickly with the best up to date information. It's not something I think it's worth going the "let me speak to the manager" route either because in the end it's not going to change the speed of which we get our cars.

I’ve been using the F12 trick on a Chrome browser ever sence last week when my build started and it’s been consistently updating along the way. Again, not betting that’s it’s 100% accurate or anything but it’s been adding a little to the excitement with the process and build. I’m staying optimistic that BMW more of a sense of urgency to get these 2024 cars moving after seeing the 1st lot of the 2023 cars take forever.

Probably smart. Time to start early!!

Knew I couldn’t trust a single ETA to be accurate in the last 6 months of this process.

Dealer has 8 cars on this truck. Somehow it drove elsewhere for over 24 hrs and the carrier won’t return their calls.

Now my PPF guy also has to move me back a week so I won’t be able to drive it for 10+ days after I actually get it.

Unfortunately, for those on the East Coast and Europe not already on a ship, Altamira is now the most congested port in Mexico, by a long shot:

Its their job. They are YOUR CA, not a random person taking your order with no responsibilities. If they aren't responding or refuse to provide you with the information, either they dont know (which I doubt but if they truly don't, they should be asking so they can properly serve their customer) or being lazy, either way they are not doing their job.

If you think I am wrong or being over the top, ask the CAs that are on this forum if they shouldbeprovidingwhen asked (a good CA will provide you with the info without asking).

No, it wont speed things up but it will let upu know exactly what is going on so you font have to try and guess or assune.

Morning Chant is anchored outside of the port right now, but hasn't been moored yet to load cars.

Which port? As aforementioned in this thread they have been shipping out of Port Altamira for weeks.

Never mind… Veracruz is the incorrect port. SLP not is currently shipping out of Veracruz for ports along the U.S. Eastern seaboard. Morning Chant is scheduled for Altamira after Veracruz though.

Veracruz, but who knows if they’re using both ports or not. No clue. Several manufacturers are trying to get their cars on ships. They currently have more vehicle carriers anchored or moored at Veracruz.

I’ve been telling myself to settle in and enjoy the wait. Been waiting since March so what’s another month or so. Lol

I have seen quite a few of these going for MSRP now. Does that seem to be the norm.

Really appreciate the updates! Approximately how long is the transport time from the manufacturing site to the port of departure? Do they use rail or truck?

I’m currently in transit to the port.

Thank you!!!

My dealer will not show me a VIR. They’re more vague than the tracker. They keep saying it’ll be here by the end of the month “just trust me we do this all the time.”
That is piss poor order management. Sorry you have to deal with that.

Goes by rail. Not sure as to timing, you could distance but the offload is another story (just saying as it seems delays are abounds).

No. I just put my dep down on one today. I am in NY and I was getting 5K over sticker for a build. Spoke to a dealer that deals with my friends broker company and I know him to be lower than all others, he told me 2k over sticker and thats broker price! I found this awesome guy on this forum that is a broker and he had 1 order that was already entered and I guess the guy backed out. Anyway it was a Aug allocation with Sept production. I got it for MSRP plus $800 broker fee plus dealer doc fee and DMV and tax. I got my production number today. Trading in my 22 X5 M50i. I literally feel like someone bent me over and stuck it right in. This truck depreciated like a bitch. 100K sticker, on Manheim for 64K. I have it for a year and 8 months. Anyway....UAW going on strike....used cars should go up due to shortage of new cars. I can keep the M2 for 6 months and sell it close to what I paid most likely. Just by looking at what the used M2s are going for now. Waiting for the Z4 M40i manual!!!!! Thats a car I will keep forever.
FYI Truecar says the average sale is 1-2K over sticker on M2. BUTTT...im sure dealers want more for a car with the Carbon Seats cause they are on constraint.
Anyway...heres my build....
https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-ow...9fayoh/summary\

Also will be my 1st real M car. TY Mehicoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
