Did a rally to PA today. Couldn't think of a better way to break in new downpipes and a new exhaust. Active Autowerke knocked it out of the park with this one.

They quoted $350 with a 10% deductible. I hard passed on that.

For how much coverage? That doesn't seem too bad. Ballsy to run out there on a new car with no insurance.

I don’t know, it was the standard Hagerty coverage. I figured the odds of me doing more than $7400 in damage on that track during a TNiA event were low, no balls really required.

Yeah I hear ya, it kinda one of those "if you're gonna crash, you better total it" deals

When it’s here with me, yes. I surely ain’t paying $500/month/vehicle for parking. I (we) street park all our cars. I park my bike(s) on the sidewalk in front of my house. Never had an issue besides a certain someone curbing rims.

My son lives in Philly and street parks his GTI. so far so good for a year now but it’s tuned with a heavy clutch, I’m swapping with him next month, giving him my TT with the dual clutch. It’s 3” shorter, should be easy peasy to park. It will be fun to be back in a manual, should be in the M2 next winter.

I grew up with GTI’s street parked in Chicago. The only issues were all the stolen radios during Cracked out 80’s and early 90’s. I still have an R parked in Chicago actually, it’s garaged though.

Street parking anywhere here in Philly is bold. My buddy's car got stolen a few months ago, they found it smashed up in Delaware. Was in the shop for 2 months for repairs. Finally got it back, parked it in front of the ex Mayor's house in a nicer area. Stolen again 3 days later.

Even in the nicest part of Center City where I live, 5 cars got windows smashed in my fenced/gated apt parking garage last week.

Meanwhile both times his was stolen, the Asst. DA called him to see if he'd be cool with them not prosecuting the person who stole it. Great place to be I'm outta here next year
