The M-specific graphics and contents on the information screen and on the control monitor are complemented by a new interface for the standard 3-zone automatic climate control. Temperature setting, fan speed, and seat and steering wheel heating (when equipped) can now be controlled either by touch control via a dedicated menu at the bottom of the control display or by voice control.

I wonder if the 3rd zone is controllable through iDrive only now for both the M2 & M4(and possibly M3)?

Well then I certainly hope they keep it out. Felt like a big middle finger to '24 owners although it really doesn't matter.

It seems like a silly feature in a tiny 2+2 in the first place. I'd trade mine for any one of the new 2025 upgrades.

I'll be honest here I'm just being a spiteful bitch about it

before I got my car I thought it would bother me but I quickly forgot about it

Anyone have an estimate on what the new flat bottom wheel would cost from BMW separately? I'd love to upgrade the wheel if there is a leather flat bottom option. No thanks to an alcantara wheel, don't want to worry about the upkeep on it.

quite literally the only time i remember is when someone complains about it here. then i get annoyed for 0.5 seconds, then i forget again. it will eventually become one of those weird little model trivia facts and some people will claim 24s are more desirable because one less thing to break lol

I have plenty of time so going to order a 25, I like the color choices better, as well.

Am surprised so few changes resulted in so many posts about this already!

The new steering wheel is nice… along with the extra exterior color options… but that’s about it. Glad I went for a ‘24 at a discount and promo rates vs waiting for the ‘25. Wallet is safe for another year.

Don’t forget more power and improved throttle response / power curve.

How big of a deal is the new curved screen and iDrive 8.5? That's about the only thing that's changed that couldn't be 'upgraded' later:

1. Steering wheel can be purchased and installed.
2. You can wrap your car whatever color you want.
3. You can buy aftermarket or OEM silver wheels.
4. 20hp bump...Personally I doubt I could even tell the difference, and dyno testing have shown it's underrated anyway. You could also aftermarket tune and some have suggested it might even be offered as a flash from BMW for a cost.

The screen itself looks like same (from what I can tell in the pictures.) Apparently there is a hardware change that comes along with iDrive 8.5 which is why we won't be able to upgrade to it. I honestly don't understand why car manufactures do stuff like this. iDrive 8 isn't that old, so you come out with a hardware level upgrade thus fragmenting your software versions that fast?

This is not LCI.. just few updates for 2025.

LCI won’t come until 2026 or so.

BMW Blog just posted an article that said they talked to the boss of BMW M and he said BMW considers it an LCI.

There was this same discussion in the i4 forums.

Cars less than 1.5 years after introduction got new hardware and went to iDrive 8.5. The head unit went from Intel Atom to Qualcomm ARM processor. No cars stopped working. So I don't understand the issue.

I have one of those original i4 cars that have 8.0.

It doesn't matter, just drive the cars.

BMWBLOG caught up with M boss Frank van Meel this weekend at Le Mans. During our chat, we were surprised to learn BMW sees the 2025 M2 as an actual LCI instead of just a simple model year change.

This car looks MUCH better wrapped around classic silver wheels. I think it was a major misstep to push black wheels on release. They don't balance out the blockiness at all.

+1. In fact, I’d say I’m in *big trouble* unless using it for nav and even then prefer plain simple audio.

I have long argued that BMW should have released the car (and all G8x) with silver and the "black" option being the bi-color option just like on F87C. A fully gloss black wheel looks terrible except on simple wheel designs.

Especially if the power bump is an actual power bump and not just correcting for the 23 and 24s already dynoing higher than listed.
It’s a cunning business strategy to acquire then retain the customer. Seriously, hats off to them for that as the approach has proven successful over many years. Just enjoy your car. Besides, some MY25 drivers too will get salty as the next cycle’s feature sets roll in. It never ends.

The new power bump too is understated and will be faster. Under-promise, over-deliver, it’s in their DNA.
