Complete despair. Mostly not because of this thread being ruined, but the fact that nobody has had anything interesting to talk about in OT in a while. That's some fucking shit.

Give me a break, I've been up since 4:30 AM when I'm usually up at 8 and by the time I realized I forgot to ask there's all these questions.

Well, it may not be a pot of gold, but beer is close enough...

I have TWO questions to make up for it. 1. Ever watched Pulp Fiction? 2. Care to buy me a coffee to avoid future meltdowns from "ruining" this precious thread?

I don't know - maybe he is going to the range to practice so he can be next Top Shot.

Serious question: The power just went off in the house for 5 hours - came back on, we are on a well, we turned water on, it ran out...turns out the pump was off so we needed to flip the breaker.

However, we now have pressure, but the water is all cloudy (doesn't dissipate, not air bubbles) and a little yellow. Plus, stuff coming out of tap leaves residue, some looks like grey dirt.

How do I fix it? Please!

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

What makes your water "all butty"? Ill answer seriously once that gets cleared up.

Crap...don't know how I missed that. Sorry, I meant it is all cloudy / dirty.

I did turn on and off again. I'm running a regen cycle on both the iron and salt filters now.

How long have you run the faucet for continuously? Ive done pipe work in my parents house and subsequently needing to run it for a solid 10-15 minutes before the water cleaned up.

I ran it for 30-40 min solid (all taps in house) to cycle the well a couple times. Afraid much more is going to flood the septic and cause backwash.

Hmmm....this house is costing us so much...my wife just wants to get rid of it now! I'm thinking maybe we install a generator.

Anyone know how much it costs to hook up a generator into everything (not the generator itself, but the installation).
