two_three_two I hear ya. I've been doing my own ppf for a few years it's really not hard there's just a lot of gatekeeping and fear mongering in the industry to discourage folks from giving it a shot. It's not so easy a caveman could do it but it's not $5-8k worth of work. I personally think tinting windows is harder but only because the material is unforgiving and I've tried 10 times with only 1 success.

You can always use a paint thickness gauge to tell if rework has been done but it does only work on metal panels.

At my shop, Xpel Ultimate ppf is $5k for a full car. I paid $2600 for: front fascia & grille, full hood, front fenders, a-pillars and front roof (to sunroof), mirrors, rocker panels & rear wheel arch/lower rear bumper cover. The shop I use does excellent work & has done 5 vehicles for me now. They stand behind their work. I had a couple bubbles on the grille & they re-did it no questions asked. I had to replace my rear bumper cover & they installed the ppf on the new bumper free of charge because I'm a great customer

if i had a shop like that maybe i would be PPFing everything too! cost of everything in my area is brutal if you dont "know a guy". i think the vendors i know and trust probably have a strong weighting on how i choose to approach certain problems (i have great paint and mechanical folks; interior and upholstery, not so much; great detailing guy, no PPF person) and what kind of problems i am willing to throw my dollars at

Where are you getting the PPF from? I would really like to try it myself on the carbon roof.

Lost23 I use either xpel or vvivid, have had good experiences with both. Xpel can be bought on their website or ebay, I get vvivid from their site or amazon/ebay.
