CA text me yesterday, dealership got an email its actually being delivered this week. He scheduled me for Friday pickup

OK guys, so my car was delivered to the dealership mid day yesterday! My Garage skipped In Transit and went right to At the Dealership. The kicker is though my PenFed check expired yesterday and BMWFS can't come close to my rate nowadays so now I'm waiting for PenFed to send me a new check and ETA for that is around Thurs/Fri. Granted only taking out a small loan so I'll see if BMWFS would be willing to come within a quarter point. Is it worth the extra interest (while minimal) to take delivery 2 days earlier? Maybe, maybe not lol

Just checked mygarage and it's updated to in transit!! CA said probably Friday to be delivered but maybe it shows up earlier? When I called Genius last week they said Wednesday, delivered to dealership on Thursday. Guess we'll see, the dock isnt too far from my dealer so I can't believe it takes more than a day to deliver.

Hell yeah! Both of you guys are super close lol. Finally !!! I know the feeling,the last part of this was the worst for me as well. I was good the whole build,then it hit the port and I was over it lol

Mine still says at the port. I'm pretty sure we're going to the same dealer too. What a bummer.

Your dealer in CT also? I thought I heard you mention you have port installed accessories? If so probably why it's still at the port.

Nope, crap. There are so many of us waiting I get confused. Mine is going to Long Island.

I do have port installed accessories. The extra wait is making me regret that decision lol.

I just called BMW Genius. My car has been released to the carrier, it'll be picked up 7/30 and arrive at the dealer 8/2. So I should be right behind you!

At the time I ordered the car, my CA never mentioned optional accessories and I didn’t think of them . Since the current options on the car brought the price up to $55k , I’m better off with out them lol.

Same, it just arrived at the dealer. I guess we'll just need to spend our time driving the car instead of dreaming about it.

I seriously want to know why some of our cars have been at port for almost two weeks, while those on the glovis spirit are already taking delivery. It does not take this long to get water spots off of a car. Absolutely disheartening not seeing it move while everyone else gets updates.

Apologies for the frustration I just don't get what is taking so long at this point if the only hold up was detailing the cars to get water spots off. It makes me feel like they're lying or something and there actually was damage to my car.

Mine shows as in port for a week now. The unknown breeds paranoia! 🤣 Maybe took this long to raise the ship from the bottom, and clean out the flood damage!

Removing water spots properly is actually an incredibly difficult process.

If the minerals in the water etched the paint, they can't just be polished out without removing so much clear you risk blowing through the paint.

The way to remove water spots properly is to physically heat the paint up so that the clear coat becomes a little malleable and releases the mineral etching. Then while it's warm, you need to compound the clear to remove the mineral etching and level off the paint.

None of this applies to the shadow line trim. I don't even think it would be possible to remove water spots from that without scratching the trim to all hell, so they're is a chance they could be replacing all of that as well.

It takes a ton of time do to properly. Hopefully they do it right and get you all squared away.
