Today is the gotcha day for Apollo. We adopted him on this day in 2009. We think he's about 13. He's a great friend, he's beautiful, and he's the most neurotic dog on the planet.

Got any more pics? Do you find he / she has a strong prey drive or just chases squirrels for fun with no attempt to actually harm the little tree rats?

My dog chases nothing living. Tennis balls, sticks, etc he is all over but living animals he is completely uninterested in. Which is good - don't have to worry about skunking or getting quilled.

Yes, we rescued him. We think he may have been traumatized by smoke & possibly fire. At our friends a few weeks back we were grilling oysters & it got very smoky. He was shaking like a leaf. I was heating some sausages in a pan and it started smoking and he ran from the room. He didn't have many whiskers when we got him. Now, they are abundant lol.

He does have a very strong drive to chase squirrels but don't know that he would even know what to do with one when he caught it. I think it's the allure of the chase. He's like a flying gazelle has he hops over things in the back yard chasing them.

He doesn't need laser eyes. He has the dog breath. Quite lethal.

My in-laws made the hour-long drive to come visit yesterday, mostly to take their grand-dog (DW's OCD psycho dog) for a walk around a large park. There was a wedding or something blocking their usual path, so they took an alternate route that happened to go past some fenced tennis courts.

OCD psycho dog loves tennis balls, and has more of them in our house than the US Open. However, he has never actually seen people playing tennis until yesterday. Long story short, one of the players accidentally hit a ball over the court's fence, and it landed right in front of the dog. He picked it up, and was acting like he was a kid who just caught a foul ball at a baseball game! The tennis player told the in-laws to let him keep it. He strutted around for the rest of their walk with his trophy in his mouth, and wouldn't put it down until after he got home.....

there's a tennis court on one of our usual walking loops and our ball-obsessed lab (pictured just a few posts back) goes absolutely bonkers anytime there's anyone playing when we walk past. about a half a block away she can hear the balls being hit and starts to get all jittery and jumpy...it's pretty funny...i need some video.

I used to buy OCD psycho dog a new can of three tennis balls every year for his birthday and Christmas, but decided to freak him out with a 50-pack to see what he'd do. Turns out he has a lifetime supply to choose from!

Just sent his DNA off so we can know what he really is, he is small right now to be just Doberman and Rottweiler... I am guessing only around 60lbs based on his assumed age (~6 months) and his current weight (right over 20lbs but not fully nourished yet)
