I think you're getting hung up on wording. I'm not doubting whether or not they can, it's more that they're not offering it. Therefore, when talking about ordering an M2, it's fair to say they "can't" (*at this time). - Unless you're breaking into the plant and doing it yourself, I don't see how you are going to argue an Individual 2 series build is possible right now. No one is arguing they CAN'T, it's just that they WON'T.

With SLP being touted as the "most advanced factory" BMW currently has, I don't think anybody is assuming that BMW built a brand new factory and didn't physically equip SLP with the tooling necessary for Individual orders from the start. I doubt there are many actual physical differences from the regular to the Individual paint process, so technically it should be possible, once BMW opens up the Individual program for the 2 series.

In the event that you are a worker from the SLP plant, and feel personally attacked for my (our) wording regarding the plant's abilities: I'm sorry to have offended you. Please accept my apology on behalf of the future G87 owners out there with orders in, and don't let us hold you up, we're ready for our cars! To everyone else: sorry, but at least now we know the reason for the rumored productions delays.

It’s a shame red interiors aren’t offered, I’d take that in a heartbeat with BSM, I’m contemplating changing from black to cognac, but it doesn’t seem pleasing to my eye

I plastidipped my F80 muffler black, and it held up surprisingly well and definitely cut down on visibility

BSM/Cognac was my initial order combo, but I wanted more "pop" for the interior. Saw the cognac vernasca leather on a G20, and it left me cold. Since red isn't available, I went with the M Highlight Black interior. At least the silver contrast stitching will give some contrast, and the colors add a little spice.

Also, note the standard non-carbon fiber steering wheel. If this G87 was equipped with the standard high gloss black interior trim as well, then it takes the cake for highest cosmetic maintenance of any spec.

Wild that you can get the really sharp red interior on the M240i but not the M2. It looks so much better than the basic black (that is an option on nearly every car sold).

It could be optioned with the $150 Aluminum Rhombicle Anthracite trim as the steering wheel remains the same as the standard trim.

X5 had the same issue in part of the exhaust, even though I ordered with Shadowline package. I taped and spray painted all flat black. My wifes Discover had same issue. You pulled up behind it in traffic and you could see all the silver muffler parts and surrounding heat shields. I painted all black same way and improved the rear view of the car.
