I went the BimmerLink route to put the rears in Service Mode. It just made the rears easier.

Confirmed - no shims in my kit either and don’t think there are supposed to be. I would also recommend going with new bolts in the rear. I think they may be stretch bolts and it’s low cost to just be safe.

I’m a week and roadtrip to Austin in to the new pads. So far I can say these DO NOT have the same initial bite as stock. They still stop well and it’s something you adjust to. That said, my goodnesss the reduction in brake dust is amazing. Worth the effort and $$ if you hate trying to keep these insanely intricate wheels clean.

OEM brake pads has shims on the rear to reduce or eliminate squeal.
iSweep doesn’t has it since it is not required due to its compounds.

I reached out to r33_RGSport privately at the time, as he’s the one I bought them through, and he said shims were not needed. I installed them without, with no problem.

Isweep 2000 here. Attached picture of the dust level after 500 miles (freeway plus some canyon, unexpected rain AND a sand storm!) and then adding some 800 more miles (lots of canyon driving but the great part was freeway) on top of the dust for around 1,300 miles.

I'll take that for 1,300 miles - thanks for posting pics.

And it's not cinnamon colored! And when you finally DO clean it, it comes off way easier than the glue-dust of the stockers (so I hear anyway)...

Please confirm here when you do get around to cleaning them.

The longer you wait, the harder it will be to get off (especially if the rims aren't ceramic coated).

Washed the car yesterday after the 1,300 miles. Typically, I wash the car every 200 miles or so and had the OEM pads for 9 months or (4k miles).

The wheels were extremely filthy but a lot came off with the pressure washer. They were not all clean (of course!). Then a gentle brushing with Adam’s Wheel Cleaner and they were all cleaned and shiny! So much easier than OEM brake dust.

And no, the wheels are not ceramic coated… not yet.

Great to hear! It’s actually reverse aging my wheels. On stock pads, they were degrading over time to the point where I almost couldn’t clean them and thought I would need to re-paint them.
Now since the new pads create dust that can easily be cleaned, I notice my wheels looking a little newer after every cleaning so you can fully remove the dust.

I’m surprised some dealers will install, but now I’m going to ask my dealer . I couldn’t even get Firestone by my house to install powerstops onto my hellcat . I did them myself because they were so simple However im not sure I want to attempt on the m2 lol there are sensors and all kinds of wires and things down there that my charger didn’t have lol

iSweeps are a “get in and start driving” pad.

Powerstops suck FYI. I just ripped 2 sets of them off two of my other vehicles and replaced with EBC yellows. Life’s too short to deal with cheap, shitty brakes. On those particular vehicles, I can deal with the extra dust from the Yellows. Absolute night and day difference in bite and stopping power.
For the M2, I’ve got a set of the iSweep 2000s. We’ll see how they work. Cold bite performance is my biggest concern for street driving and I hear the 2000s are good to go on that.

No bedding needed for IS1500 and IS2000, just drive normally after installation.

I agree that the power stops aren’t great, however I had 5 sets of them including on my hellcat and m40 with zero issue , at least for my driving style. They also prolonged the life of the rotors. They are NOT suitable for any type of track or road coarse however for me I’ll never see that so it didn’t matter. I’m surprised that you hate them so much . They stopped my heavy hellcat no different than the OEM brembos from what I could tell anyways.

I think also brakes are very vehicle-specific. Some vehicles just have shitty brakes. Undersized rotors, shitty calipers or whatever. Putting a cheap Powerstop pad on a car like that is a bad idea. It makes it go from bad to worse. Live n learn.
