Yeah, huh. Looky there. They even threw in a blonde for added effect. That's a kill shot. Almost made me forget it still won't come with a manual.

Which is exactly why I don't care what it is.
Without a MT, I'm not remotely interested.

I would have been first on the list at my dealer, but knowing it's auto only is why I have the current G87 M2 on order.

The M2 is the Cayman in for the Porsche line. You would not compare a 911 to a Cayman. They’re just different price point different driving needs.

The M2 is the entry-level CS the M3 M4 M5 are the high-end

I tend to differ.

The Cayman does not have the performance of a 911 and is on a different platform from the 911. The 718 4.0 and GT4 sit at the top of the 718 platform, but also cost a tonore than a M2.

The G8x is all the same platform M2/M3/M4.
The M2 is shorter than the M4 but lacks the ADAS options and most of the interior luxury options.

It's is more of an M4 stripper. Actually if you are buying a basic M4 without ADAS and individual paint or full leather, you could save money and get a M2. Has the same drivetrain and engine in basic form.

And to add...the M5 is a different car altogether.

Even the M3/4 don't get the 5 series and up sound and ADAS at any price.

I have to disagree. I owned a M2 competition and then I sold it and bought a F82 M4 the tuning on the M4 was way better.

Different animals. The regular M2 used a B engine and not an S.

The G87, G80/82 all use the same tuning for the rear wheel drive non-Competition variants. The M2 has the same drivetrain as the rear wheel drive M3/M4.

So you will see all the cars with rear wheel drive and 6 speeds have 473hp and 406lb-ft of torque.

Curious to see if he has any experience with the G chassis or if this all on the prior. I have never driven either so I couldn’t comment if there is a difference between F87 M2C and F82 vs G87 and G82.

The timing on the M2 competition was 410hp and the CS was 444hp. It was the S55. The timing of the F82 M3 started at 425hp.

BMW treated the F87 as a bastard initially with a beefed up N55 then in the Competition and CS detuned them compared to the M3/4.

But back to the topic at hand, I'd pick a G87 over an F87 of any variant. New and better motor and adaptive suspension from the G8x family is a win all day.

Agree 10000%...no hesitation if I could or had to do it over I would still take the G over the F.

Meant beefed up N55. Typo.

The N55 in the M2 also open deck.

To be clear on this, ALL N55s are open deck, IIRC.

Which is what I think you meant, but I'm not sure? You mean, as compared to the closed deck S55s, right?
