Encouraging data point for frustrated northeast customers: after 40 days or so at Final Assembly and another 11 waiting for transport, my week 29 build seems to have found its way onto a boat, as per my CA today. BMW tracker not yet updated.

LMAO

That online tracker is a beat. Call Genius if you haven’t already and see if they can tell you something.

called bmw genius just now - they said "I see its en route from plant to departure port but has not arrived. CA should see the same info I have unless they reached out to someone specifically like a regional manger"

now I assume the dealer DID do that if they texted me unprompted, and had a port arrival date - but genius agreed if they have that info, they most definitely have vessel info - and theyre not sharing for some reason or another.

Good grief man. They’ve been telling me my car has been in route to departure port since August 11th. It really is a shame their tracking system is such a POS.

I know the answer here but is there nothing we can do that 23s will be delivered after 24s? They are inherently worth less day 1 and yes I know the 24s cost 1k more.

BMWNA should do something for customers still waiting on deliver of 23s!

Dont waste your time calling the genius. They are not much better than the web tracker. The P1's CA is truly the only person who has access to the most up-to-date and accurate information (not like this hasn'tbeen stated before). If your CA isnt helping or claims they dont have or can't get the information, they are either lazy or they don't know what to do (either way is a joke and I would find appalling).

I wish I was wrong and there were other/similar/better options but having been through purchasing both a G42 M240 and G87 over the last year, it has been proven it is the CA that is not only the best source, but the only source to help.

Not sayingbto be rude but all those trying to get information, you need to put a little pressure on your CAs if they aren't helping. YOU are their client and without you, they make bupkis. They should be glad and want to help you out.

The Problem is there’s no information to be had…. There’s a production date but after that all they can give you is a date of completion. there’s no schedule that I’m aware of that says when the car will be at the port, when it will leave port, what boat, when it will leave or kind of ETA. I’m not throwing stones here. I just made some incorrect assumptions, thinking that there was actually a logistical timeline for these vehicles.

When you get it rip out the rear climate control and sell it to someone with a 24 to make up for the difference

Correct, the future cannot be seen however "your" CA can provide details at each step (when available). They can tell you when the car's build was completed, when it is "turned over to sales" or headed to the port, when at the port, when it gets on the ship, what ship (you are then able to track to the POE)...they can then tell you when its on a truck for delivery to the dealership and eta, and finally, arrived at the dealership.

Not sure I follow why early 2024 models will not have 8.5? My car was build a couple of days ago (ready for transport today); so I am interested in understanding. Thanks for explaining.

Because the G87/G42 are not on the list of vehicles that will get H5 HW that runs 8.5. There is a thread today with the confirmation of which vehicles get what.
