Installed the Skycraper Gray painted engine cover from IND, put the matte carbon DMe cover from Indiv back on, and swapped out the fuel line that was leaking with a line from Precision Raceworks. Going to test it tonight and pray I ordered the right part.

Heat gun and fishing line to remove lip then copious amounts of Goof-Off Pro Strength Remover Aerosol on the adhesive. Have to go slow and be meticulous - saturate foam tape, gently scrape with plastic razor, wipe with solvent, repeat.

IND's site does not show the custom painted engine cover (only with M Power painted) - did you special order that? I had one of theirs in my F82 and they always do a great job on their painted parts.

Just wanted to drop a quick update on some mods I’ve done on my M2 G87.
These changes have seriously leveled up both the performance and look of my ride, and I’m hyped to share the details Remote Coding by kubax86 bimmer_remote (Instagram) So, I hit up my boy Bimmer_remote on Instagram for some remote coding magic. Here’s what we did: CSL Diff Coding CSL Steering Coding CSL EDC Coding Airbag Light Coded Out Seat Occupancy Light Coded Out Amber Headlight Corner Light Coded Out CSL Diff, Steering, and EDC Coding: In my opinion, the CSL is the peak of what BMW engineers wanted the car to feel like. With the CSL diff, steering, and EDC coding, my M2 now drives like a dream. It’s super responsive and engaging, making me feel like I’ve got the best OEM setup possible. The performance boost is insane – you gotta try it to believe it. Airbag and Seat Occupancy Lights Coded Out: I swapped in some Recaro bucket seats, so I needed to get rid of the seatbelt and occupancy lights on the dash. Coding those out made everything look so much cleaner. No more annoying dash lights! Amber Headlight Corner Light Coded Out: Also decided to code out the amber corner lights on the headlights. Personally, I think it looks way cleaner without them. The front end now has a sleek, sharp look that I love. If you’re thinking about getting some coding done, hit up Bimmer_remote. I’ve got a 10% coupon code for you: bmwm24. Highly recommend their work. Swapping Out My Aftermarket Shift Knob Old Shift Knob: I was rocking a Black Forest Industries shift knob, but it just wasn’t cutting it. It felt too big and clunky, and the fit wasn’t perfect. It had this weird “click” that didn’t inspire confidence and didn’t really match the car’s interior vibe. https://blackforestindustries.com/collections/bmw-manual-knobs/products/gs2-alcantara-bmw-manual?variant=14463698305068 New Shift Knob: I swapped it out for a custom-made M Performance shifter. Followed the guide on Machinewithsoul’s page and ordered it through IND Distribution. Took about a week and a half to get here. Clicks right it, like OEM.... it's perfect. This new shifter is a game-changer. It’s so much more comfortable and feels perfectly connected to the car. Shifts are smooth and precise, and it looks straight-up amazing. It’s made a huge difference in my driving experience. All in all, I’m stoked with these mods. The remote coding by Bimmer_remote has transformed the driving feel to match that CSL perfection. And the custom shift knob? It’s the cherry on top, enhancing both the feel and aesthetics of the interior. If you’re considering any of these upgrades, I can’t recommend them enough. |

Do you just order the carbon knob and the factory alcantara boot separately from IND and they assemble them for you?

First Wash. BMW changed their brake pad material for sure, that’s some tenacious stuff. Hoping that as they bed in more it calms down a bit, but doubtful.

Uniden R8 I installed today along with the Blendmount that fits perfectly.
I also ordered whatever correct mirror tap that was recommended from Blendmount in their website. I ran the tap through the top of the plastic covering and I found that through the bottom caused the wires to pinch and the plastic to not want to close flush. Still plenty of slack from the top and it looks a bit sleeker imo. |
